Yes Super Joe, I have colleagues that swear by i-phones, but I’ve tried them and they’re not for me; I just don’t find touch-screens as easy to use as a keyboard.
Also if you work in engineering like me, you tend to mess up the screen by poking at it with oily fingers! (Cold oily fingers as you have to take your gloves off as well.)

SJ, it looks like you'll soon be able to do such advanced things as copy & paste and even send MMS. :naughty:

Not forgetting....... (Drum roll please)

You can forward and delete individual messages.

Yeah the new 3g has copy/paste.

You could MMS with the old one after a while, it was a download program. Same with individual messages you could do that before, and send them to a website held application, or screenprint and email them etc.

SJ

EDITED - I should have added that certain applications like MMS (not copy/paste) you have to subscribe to after downloading them and a trial period, most are about 0.99 Cents.

Guten Tag everyone of my HHAD Brothers'n Sisters

True Move The sole operrator who sells and services iPhone in Thailand has just launched the latest iPhone3GS in Thailand last Monday.

The reason why True Move has got in them new iPhone 3GS so early to Thailand is because they wanted to stay ahead & cut short of the gray market which with the iPhone (2007) and iPhone 3G (2008) always been ahead.

The prices for the iPhone 3GS start @ 24950 Baht for 16 GB and 28950 Baht for the 32GB.

compareed with the price of a iPhone 3GS in the States which cost roughly 200 Bucks for the 16GB for 6900 Baht & 300 BUcks for the 32GB version. We could welll see it as a total price rip off by True Move. with the new iPhone you get 17 True entertainment specific Applications plus you can log in instanraneously into True moves wifi HotSpots and 3G areas without having signe in a;; the time. Plus you can update the latest firmware @ any TueMove shop that sells and distributes iPhones.

Urgent Security News for all iPhone users brought to you by walyou.com in association with the understudy!!!

New iphone SMS Hack could mean an iPhone virus could come to an I Phone near you!

Most marvel at the possibilities and features of the iPhone as a whole and also the newly released iPhone 3GS, but could this amazing Apple cellphone possibly be an easy device to hack into and take over?

Seems that Apple has a slight, but extremely dangerous flaw, in the iPhone Security foundation which could allow hackers to take over your iPhone. This iPhone security breach has been proven by and tested at the Black Hat Security Conference where Charlie Miller and Colin Mulliner illustrated the ease of the hack and just hinted at the ramifications for iPhone owners.

This hack arrives to an unsuspecting iPhone user as an SMS with a single square character which could allow the hacker to do the following:
- Make calls from your iPhone
- Steal your personal data stored on your iPhone
- Send Text Messages from your smartphone, and…
- simply take over your phone making it useless…for you.

Even scarier is the ability for this hack or iPhone bug to spread like a virus. When the hacker takes over your iPhone, they could easily send this sms to your entire address book, hence sending an iPhone virus to duplicate its malicious take over.

This iPhone bug is demonstrated by a corruption bug in the SMS application of the iPhone. Unfortunately, as of now, Apple has not provided a patch to repair this tremendous flaw, even though they have known about it for 6 weeks.

Google Android showed a similar bug previously as well, but a successful patch was provided within 24 hours, making Google fans relax easier than Apple fans.

Knowing of this crazy iPhone virus development, one could only wait and hope for a quick and dependable patch to be officially released. In the meantime, if such an SMS arrives to you with one single character…immediately turn off your iPhone, in hopes that you avoided the takeover.

Update: Apple has released the iPhone OS 3.0.1 with a patch to solve the iPhone virus and SMS hack problem.

You're right US. The 3G starts at $99.00 and the 3GS at $199.00 from the on-line Apple Store. Fill up a bag next time back there and bring 'em on over! I assume they can be unlocked here. Pete

I haven't read through the whole thread but the reason that I woudn't buy one yet is that the battery life is shite. According to my friends that have one the battery only lasts about one day. Sometimes even less!!

My current Nokia lasts at least one week. The iphone would have to last at least 3 - 4 days for it to become a viable tool for me.

It seems that you sacrifice battery time for a touch screen and suchlike. Its almost as if phone technology has gone too fast in one area but not evenly across the board.

With todays technology and expertise you would think that they would have designed a battery that would last at least month.

Shame as I want to like it soooooo much...

Randy, yes you're right you could run the battery down in a day if you used it a lot for stuff other than calls, ie: games, internet, videos, emails etc, if not it lasts about 2 days. I guess the main reason is that it has such a large screen with high quality graphics, I use it all the time for internet and emails when I'm sitting in a bar, I can't use phones like Nokia N95 for that, screen too small and gives me a headache. If you don't use a phone for the likes of the above its not worth getting it, the new 3GS has an improved battery so their blurb says.
I'd much rather look at a large display for 8 hours offset with having to charge every day than the other way round. You can have a charger in the car and on the laptop.

My Nokia is starting to give me troubles. My wife let me use her I-phone.

I do like certain things about it, but as Randy says the battery life sucks, and for one like me who can tend to be forgetful, not a great thing.

BaaBaa, would you please let us know how you like your new phone? Good and bad?

Thanks

Yeah looks rather nice BaaBaa, see it has the proper finger-sensitive multi-touch screen same as iPhone, many of the earlier 'touch screen' rivals were not finger-touch sensitive. Your LG is 27k Baht here not on contract, roughly about same as iPhone 3G. Is it much different/better than this new Nokia X6 ??

Replacement screen is 8k Baht so not bothering, decided it'll be cheaper to wait til I lose it in a bar like most of me previous phones. The GPRS/EDGE packages I use are on this link: http://activities.ais.co.th/app/wap_mpa ... ister.aspx
They have 6 hrs (50B0, 20 hrs (100B), 100 hrs (350B) and Unlimited (999B).
