Paris Olympics July/August 2024
Re: Paris Olympics July/August 2024
Ah, I thought you were watching live. I've only watched live so far - so much to choose from.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but Discovery+ has live coverage of all events. In Thailand you'll need a VPN capable of showing BBC iPlayer.
You can pause, rewind, or watch even from the start of the event coverage.
I paid 3.99 GBP for a month, presumably I have to give a month's notice to cancel, but good value for the Olympics!

Big Boy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 28, 2024 3:41 pm Really? We've got great coverage on AIS with 24 channels. Having seen the post, I switched to beach volleyball - I actually thought you guys were watching whilst wearing your dirty old men's raincoats. FFS, it was men's beach volleyball - I apologise for thinking such demeaning thoughts about you both.
Not such a damn fine call in my opinion![]()

Not if you have AIS - 24 Olympic channels is more than enough for me. I've used the VPN version as well, but AIS is good enough for me.404cameljockey wrote: ↑Sun Jul 28, 2024 4:02 pm I don't know if it's been mentioned, but Discovery+ has live coverage of all events. Is AIS TV useful, I can't see me wanting to pay for it all year? I have my IPTV for all channels and PPV I want.Big Boy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 28, 2024 4:14 pmNot if you have AIS - 24 Olympic channels is more than enough for me. It was Live at the time of DM's post, but was only on for an hour - purely from a "Sporting Interest", I thought it best to watch the Full Event on Time Delay.... In all fairness, it was very good (aside from being good on the eye)

Of course it is. If you are prepared to pay £3.99/month for the Olympics, you can get the full AIS package (including Olympics) for just 299฿, and only have to pay for just 1 month instead of 1 + 1 as you suggest with Discovery+. I haven't drilled down, but it is likely you'd be able to pick just the Olympics up on AIS even cheaper.404cameljockey wrote: ↑Sun Jul 28, 2024 4:36 pm Is AIS TV useful, I can't see me wanting to pay for it all year? OK 6 or 2 x 3, but AIS is very easy, and great reception all of the time.
Anyway, we're drifting from the Olympics here

[Edit] I've drilled down, and all 24 AIS Olympic channels are available with English commentary for absolutely no charge whatsoever - just download the app.

As we were talking about the best way to watch the Games I didn't think it off topic.
The Thai girl in the table tennis never caught fire, although way ahead of the Ukrainian in world rankings. The Ukraine is on a hot streak from the world tour and I suppose carried the momentum , so beat Paranam although it did go to the final game.

^ Now, now ladies...
Swimming has been good, Peaty in the 100m Breaststroke a stand out (of course being biased) - would be an incredible feat for him to take Gold again (3rd consecutive). The LHG seems to have enjoyed the Men's Diving - something to do with them looking far better than me in skimpy underwear

Men's badminton doubles - the Thai tanks rolled through the Czech Republic. Heavy casualties.

Sadly, Peaty misses out on Gold, but still a great swim.
The Seine no better than the Thames then Sateeb..?
Murray still there (just)
And more.....!!

"Adam Peaty was narrowly denied a third successive gold medal after Andy Murray and Dan Evans produced one of Britain's great Olympic comebacks on day two of Paris 2024.
On a star-studded day in the French capital, Peaty had to settle for silver in the men's 100m breaststroke after Italy's Nicolo Martinenghi beat him by 0.02 seconds.
Earlier, Murray extended his stellar career with a dramatic tie-break win in the men's tennis doubles alongside Dan Evans, against Japanese opponents Kei Nishikori and Taro Daniel.
Celebrities came out on Sunday morning to see Simone Biles, one of the most decorated gymnasts in history, make her much-anticipated Olympics return.
Elsewhere, Kimberley Woods earned Team GB's third medal of the Games in spectacular style, with bronze in the canoe slalom.
There were early exits for Team GB to contend with, but rower Helen Glover, who was a flagbearer alongside Tom Daley, made a positive start to her quest for a third Olympic gold.
In the morning, a planned triathlon training session had to be cancelled due to pollution in the River Seine.
There were boos as Dutch volleyball player Steven van der Velde began his Olympic campaign. He was jailed in 2016 for raping a 12-year-old British girl."

One takeaway from these Olympics already. Korean and Chinese women are scarily good at archery and shooting
