Is that a lamb shank?

I appreciate they can't please everyone, but as someone who does appreciate lots of veg on a roast, I don't want it served up, unadorned and getting cold on a separate plate.

Good to see a bit of parsnip though, but the roast tatties are a bit thin on the ground and I'm not sure about the onion(?) and square thing next to it - excuse my ignorance.

Actually, I feel I am out of my depth here!!!

I forgot to mention the Yorkshire pudding was half the size in the photo of what I had at 8.30pm. OK bit late but why not 2?

Yes I had two braised onions on my plate, what's all that about???

The square thing is sausage meat

Based on only one visit admittedly I'd say Le pub is better for veggies, Crusoe's is better for meat

I would have hated that, but I remember, both of my parents always included onions like that (but about 3 times the size) with their roast dinner. Not for me, but as I keep saying, its all down to personal taste. I think, when cooked with the potatoes, it used to enhance the flavour i.e. nobodies roasters tasted as good as my parents roasters.

You have to taste it to appreciate it (or not as the case might be), but it does appear to be an odd combination - definitely looks like a lamb shank, so having a small (almost pickled onion) sized onion and sausage meat isn’t your usual cuisine!!

I've noticed the sausage meat stuffing is kind of standard, regardless of meat, with roast dinners around town.

^You guys are spoilt in Hua Hin, back in Luxembourg I only know one Irish bar that does a Sunday roast. You have to book in advance, it costs the equivalent of about a 1000bt and doesn't look as good as most of the ones posted on here.
Ironically, when I'm in Thailand the heat takes away my appetite and I can't face eating one.

Somewhat off topic but......

You wouldn't have said that on Sunday night. I had to move tables twice because I was genuinely cold!

Me too, definitely my first choice. His small portion is always plenty for me. The slow cooked lamb is to die for - just like my father used to cook it. The other benefit is you don't have to go at lunch time - you can book any time up until 7pm (I think). Sunday lunchtime is not always convenient for us.

There is also usually Bubble & Squeak every Monday, made from the Sunday roast leftovers. Very good!
