Sateeb, you need to quote the post you are answering so that everyone is clear what restaurant you mean. I know you were answering the last post but if people use "last unread" they may think you are talking about the restaurant that is the topic of this thread.

This place is a "DUMP"! Need to wait ages before your food is served, the curries are submerged in oil and is tasteless, not to mention that it likely is prepared days before and frozen-in. Not a worth a try!

Soi 80 and S&S are miles ahead!!!

Well I'm not much of a judge I admit, born in a working class home, eat anything I am offered, never, I mean never ever leave a scrap of food on my plate. So for me there are three categories 1 OK, but probably will not revisiit 2 OK, will probably revisit 3 Very good will defineitly revisit--I give this a strong 2.

Which one, S&S, Soi 80 or Bombay Palace?

Went to the one on soi 80 again on Friday and tried a vegetarian dish (paneer, potatoes & peas) - it was absolutely delicious, as was the yellow basmati rice.

Now you just need to make your own paneer. :thumb: I can't belief just how easy it was for me to become a professional cheese maker. I've only made it from raw milk though, but apparently store bought milk works as well, and it really is dead easy to do.

Hi Takiab,

It's the next thing on the list ... the gf already makes her own yoghurt, so this is a natural step further. Will try the raw milk as soon as we get a chance to be in your area again.....

I don't want to steer this thread off course, but yesterday on my way back home, heading north from Takiap I noticed a large "Taste of India" sign just south of the G-Market shopping mall, but on the opposite side of the road. In other words, you'll see the sign on your left shortly after the mall, if you're heading south.

Has there always been an Indian restaurant there, or is this another new Indian? I'm not sure if the restaurant is actually on the main road or not, but I'm inclined to think it's down the soi where the sign is located.

Any of you seen this and/or tried it?

It is directly opposite the entrance to Bangkok Hospital. It has been mentioned on this thread, but no reports yet.

It was mentioned on the restaurant news thread but I'm sure when I went past a couple of days ago it had changed it's name already. It's immediately before Rocco condo on the road leading to the kite schools and beach.

Quite correct Oakdale160.

Me and "her indoors" went here last night mainly due the favourable comments it has been getting on this thread. It's called the Sanjyi Restaurant and we were NOT disappointed.

The food, service and staff were superb and the price was very good.

Have followed this "New Indian on Soi 80" from the start, eaten there every week / 10 days.......food remains very good, probably the best in town, but slowly they are slipping.........

New staff (local) brought in to assist but have no clue what the dishes are or contain and often have to check with the Indian lady (owner?), mix-up with bills and now also long waiting times before you get what you have ordered.

Please guys.......maintain the overall standard of your business as I enjoy your food and love to come back!
