Gone are the days when the Brits were the plucky amateurs having to train before or after a full time job whilst the Americans were pseudo students doing dodgy college courses and the East Europeans were all in the military. Proper funding has reaped its rewards. Let`s hope for more medals today and really ram it up that pr*ck of a French president who said they would have done a better job in Paris. Oh, and their golden boy lost to Jason Kenny in the velodrome.

If Yorkshire was independent, there would have been more lottery funding for the rest of the UK, and Yorkshire would not have been able to afford the train fare to the Olympics.
