Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates
Thank you to all for the info much appreciated
Test and Go hotels
I am looking for a Test and Go hotel in Hua Hin. I have found plenty of SHA+ hotels but very few seem to offer the airport pick up, PCR test and a nights accommodation.
In addition to that, I read that flights into BKK which land after 4pm would not be tested until the following day, meaning a 2 night stay was required. Does anyone have confirmation of that.
My flight is scheduled to land at 3.45pm. Would I be better booking a BKK hotel if there is a cut off time for PCR tests in HH.

Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates
I arrived at around 16:00 in November and stayed at the Novotel in the airport. I was tested by 17:30, had the result by 01:30, my partner picked me up at 06:00 and I was home in Hua Hin by 09:00.

From 8th. place to no place. My sympathies are with the ladies of Pattaya, who will lose money.

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues
Does Thailand want anybody to come ?
In December got pass in 24 hours
This time it's been a week and still nothing
Sent lots emails
Just called embassy and spent 2 hours listening to a lady telling me reception will deal with me soon. I was number 27 in queue. Then got ring tone for 15 minutes. Then line goes dead. Called again now I'm number 13!!?
My flight is Monday and I am screwed
I think I will wait until this nonsense is over

Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates
It will vary by airlines, but increasingly they are dropping the rule - I booked a flight on Etihad early this year and at the time they insisted on a PCR test, this has now been dropped providing your destination country doesn’t require it.caller wrote:But do the airlines still insist on this?STEVE G wrote: ↑Sat Mar 19, 2022 3:22 am Thailand drops pre-departure PCR test from April

Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates
Got back today after a month in the UK. Got the Thailand pass on the second attempt (my own fault). Used the Chrome, jpg and Gmail method with the code being received within 12 hours.
Used the Aloft hotel Sukhumvit 11 and all went smoothly. Landed at 0700, hotel by 0930 and PCR test back by 1530 so home tonight.
It is a lot easier to get the PCR test in the UK and like most I am looking forward to things easing up further.

Re: Flying to/from Thailand, latest updates
Glad you had a safe trip. Is there a time limit where the Thailand pass expires? I'm headed back April 25 and like to have things sorted early.Gregjam wrote: ↑Sat Mar 19, 2022 8:02 pm Got back today after a month in the UK. Thanks!
The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.

The Thailand pass is related to a specific flight and if that changes then you need to make a new submission. From my experience of three entries under the system, if you have used the Chrome/Gmail/jpg method and not had a code issued within 24 hours then something is not right or being checked and making a new submission is quicker than trying to sort things out. In my case a renewed passport and submitting before I had the proper letter from the hotel was probably the reason for the first failure this time.
I understand that the pass has built in allowances should your flight be delayed. Things have been changing frequently so it is best not to apply for the pass too early.
