Re: The Car Challenge
That's 2-3 times what you would pay in the UK, but then new Imported cars are a lot more expensive here than they are back home, so I guess it's to be expected?

You're on the right track Bristolian!!Bristolian wrote:It's a big old chassis but almost cretainly an MG from the look of the Grille??
Re: The Car Challenge
The "Y" type MG`s were similar shape, but it looks to big to be a "Y" type, and the front bumper is not correct.
The grill looks more like a Diamler?

It's not a Y Type, but Bristolian was on the right track with his "guess"!!Nereus wrote:The "Y" type MG`s were similar shape, but it looks to big to be a "Y" type, and the front bumper is not correct.

Re: The Car Challenge

Re: The Car Challenge
It was totally a guess based on the grill and not much more. However it is big and that made me doubt my answer. Without Goggle I am now stuck. Yes, it is a nice looking car. The two suicide doors should give it away.

No it's not a Lagonda, I thought I had already confirmed that Bristolian had identified the maker, so it's just the exact model - quite rare in terms of how many made!!lindosfan1 wrote:Is it a Lagonda
Re: The Car Challenge
MG SA or MG 2-litre was a sporting saloon produced by the MG Car company from 1936 to 1939.
I had completly forgotten about these. There was also a tourer body by Charelsworth, I think.

The suicide doors are quite unusual insomuch that a good proportion of the rear wheel arch looks to be included in the door.Nereus wrote:Yes, it is a nice looking car. The two suicide doors should give it away.

Re: The Car Challenge
Erm.. as far as I can see there are only two doors, and the hinges are well in front of the wheel arch.Bristolian wrote:The suicide doors are quite unusual insomuch that a good proportion of the rear wheel arch looks to be included in the door.Nereus wrote:Yes, it is a nice looking car.
