Hua Hin City FC
Re: Hua Hin City FC
It looks to be in an ideal position if all the assumptions are correct. Hopefully they will attract supporters from the Takiab area aswell as Hua Hin and the surrounding areas and it just a quick jaunt down Soi 112 for me. Brilliant!!
Re: Hua Hin City FC
I have just shown my wife, Alek, the map and the Google Earth map and her first thought was that it was as far out as the Kasetsart Veterinary University but then said it is more likely to be next to the waterpark, which makes sense. The area near that monstrosity of a condo has recently been flooded after a few heavy showers last week so I am hoping it is not going to be near there unless they do extensive drainage work and the U-turn shambles around there just adds to the chaos.
Re: Hua Hin City FC
I'm surprised that it flooded there, it seems fairly well raised. It could have been drains going in when I thought it was house foundations (I did say I know nothing about building). However, what we saw there a few weeks back has now gone. Washed away in the floods, or re-covered?Davy B wrote:The area near that monstrosity of a condo has recently been flooded after a few heavy showers last week so I am hoping it is not going to be near there unless they do extensive drainage work and the U-turn shambles around there just adds to the chaos.
As I said earlier, I go that way quite a lot these days (must have missed the flooding

Re: Hua Hin City FC
The next 2 weeks should define how this league is going to finish. It is the half way point of the season, and the 2 top teams have back to back games against the 2 bottom teams.
Prachuab, previously runaway leaders capitulated to previously bottom side Phichit, conceding 5 goals on the way. They should pick up an easy 6 points against Prachinburi.
BCC Tero who beat Hua Hin last week take on Udon Thani. Udon have had a lot of off the field problems. If they can put that behind them, I consider them to be a very good side. I'm hoping they can do a job against BCC, and I'd like to think they can steal 4 points from the 2 games.
Hua Hin take on Phichit in back to back games. Until last week's game against Prachuab, I'd been assuming 6 easy points. I'm not so sure now. If we are going to move back into the much coveted promotion position, we need 6 points. I'll be there cheering them on at both games, but Prachuab have made me unsure.
Finally, don't forget:

Re: Hua Hin City FC
Yes it is "squeaky bum time" again as the Mighty Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC enter the part of the season, as Big Boy has said, that will give us a good indication as to where our football club is going next season. When the chips were down during the normal season we rose to the challenge and put in some really impressive performances. We need to do the same starting today. Remember folks the kick off is TODAY AT 3.30PM.
Re: Hua Hin City FC
I can`t wait to hear Big Boy`s assessment of the game today. The referee did hit utmost to spoil what turned out to be an easy victory (3-1) over Phichit who thrashed Prachuap 5-2 last week. They turned out to be a very different team this week by trying to stop Hua Hin from playing our flowing game. They were outplayed today. They feigned injury and in some tackles basically assaulted our players. The tv cameras were there today and hopefully the result reflected our superiority. There were loads of talking points but the main one concerned the referee who I have to say was diabolical. The number 13 of Phichit was booked for a poor foul in the first half and with 5 minutes to go he appeared to kick out at Stephens after they had collided and was shown the red card, but amazingly when the game restarted some 5 minutes later after lengthy treatment including the use of an oxygen mask, Phichit resumed the match still having 11 players on the pitch. I lost my voice again shouting abuse at the ref who should start looking for another job after this performance. I counted their players 4 times and could not believe the referee did nothing about it. Man of the match for me was Lamptey with Stephens a very close second. Hopefully we will be up for the fight next week in the return game.
Re: Hua Hin City FC
you must have seen a different game to me ,first half hua hin were good ,but in the 2nd half they sat back and plated way too deep ,when they scored to make it 2-1 it looked as if they were the better team ,hua hin could not put 2 passes together ,they were squeaky bum moments until hua hin scored to make it 3-1 . .as for the ref he lost it ,i have never seen so many soft yellow cards and players rolling over ,the strecher must have been on 4-5 times
on the plus side the crowd looked more than usual

Vana Nava Hua Hin City 3 - 1 Phichit
4 changes from last week's line up. Anucha, who I think must have been carrying an injury was replaced by Nutthapong. Wongsawad was replaced by Patay. Sarawut was replaced by Surapon at right back. Finally, our captain, Kanchit returned into the centre of defence pushing Stephens to left back.
Phichit, riding on a high following last week's 5 - 2 hammering of run away leaders Prachuab, came out of the blocks at 110mph. It took Hua Hin about 10 minutes to take control. 2 fine goals by Nutthapong saw Hua Hin go into half time with a comfortable lead.
When the teams came out for the 2nd half, we could see all was not well when Nutthapong received a lot of treatment on a back injury. For the next 30 minutes, every time Hua Hin tried to move forward, they came to a standstill whenever the ball reached an under performing strike partnership.
Stephens was unlucky to have a goal disallowed, and even unluckier a few minutes later when the ball ricocheted of him into his own net. Hua Hin were struggling, and Phichit were looking the likely winners.
With about 15 minutes to go, and the score 2-1, the manager made, what appeared to be a crazy substitution. He took off our centre forward, and replaced him with Theerawat, who has been playing at right back most of the season. I was not pleased. However, it turned out to be an inspired move. Hua Hin immediately re-took control. Sutin moved further forward, and Theerawat slotted into Sutin's attacking midfield position.
Just a few minutes after the change, Sutin blasted home the goal that secured the valuable 3 points.
The game was full of controversy, and I would guess the pundits had a field day with some outrageous decisions. Several times the linesmen made it obvious that they do not understand the offside law. There was one occasion when the linesman did not see a Phichit player strolling around just outside of his penalty area when Kissana was put clear by a team mate. The referee blew up when the linesman signaled offside. Even when the Phichit player enjoying his afternoon stroll was pointed out, the referee backed his linesman's decision.
The Hua Hin crowd do not take crap officials/decisions lightly, to the extent that officials have been attacked several times as they leave the pitch. The result of this is a 5th official turns up at matches to monitor the Hua Hin crowd. I noticed at half time, when the crowd were a little boisterous, he produced a camera and started filming them. Thankfully, a few sensible Hua Hin supporters calmed the situation down, and there was nothing to report.
The worst decision of the day came near the end of the match. Stephens brought the Phichit number 13 (who was a very dirty player in his own right) down. The number 13 hit Stephens so hard, he was out cold to the extent he stopped breathing, and they were doing depressions on his chest, rushed oxygen on the pitch, and the attending nurses ran (never seen that before) to his aid. The referee awarded the free kick to number 13, which was correct, but then showed him a straight red card, which IMHO was also correct.
There was a lot of confusion as they were fight to resuscitate Stephens, which they eventually did. When play re-started, the ref seemed to forget he had sent a player off, and Phichit continued with 11 men.
A good game for the spectator, spoilt by some awful decisions by the officials. Next week, we play Phichit again, and I think there will be a few issues taken 360 miles up the motorway - it will be a grudge match, which I now believe Hua Hin can win. I'm looking forward to it.

Can't see it very clearly but it looks like only three points separate no. 1 from no. 6.

You can see it as clearly as it is.
Another shocker for Prachuab again this week. Talking to buksi a few weeks back, he reckoned Prachuab basically capitulated like this last season because they aren't geared up for the higher level. Prachinburi really were a bad side when they visited. However, buksi is probably saying the same about Hua Hin.

Re: Hua Hin City FC
It looks to me that Big Boy and I were at the same game - and indeed we were - we were sitting about 3 seats from each other so it looks like someone was indeed at a different game to us. Nuff said. I felt that Hua Hin were well in control of the game until the deflection off Stephens and as usual we get a bit silly and our passing game becomes very erratic. It starts panic among the players and the supporters. There was a time when it was 2-1 that I could see us throwing it away again but when the 3rd went in it settled the team once again. I will not be going next week but I will welcome reports from other supporters and the customary honest assessment from Big Boy. We are back in with a shout again and I am happy!!

Re: Hua Hin City FC
looks like every point count now and it will go to the last round for a decisssion who will win the 2 places I hope.

Re: Hua Hin City FC
Yes it looks like it will probably go to the last round of games. Hua Hin have 2 games at home and 3 away starting with the visit to Phichit next week. It is extremely tight now with all the teams in Pool B still in with a chance and all capable of beating each other. BCC Tero have to come to our place and it may be our most testing game. It may well come down to who wants it the most. Our travelling supporters may be the key to the away games at Phicit, Udon and Prachinburi and that would set us up nicely for the last game against Prachuap at Fort Thanarat. It will be a real crowd puller if it all hinges on that game!!
