Yes, got more quotes, we think Anglo Pacific are good. We have had a setback in moving. The sale of our house fell through at the last post, this was due to the chain collapsing , so looking for another buyer. The original buyer still wants our house, but has to sell his first. If I get further quotes will let you know. My son is coming to HH in just over a week. He is really looking forward to it. Wish we were there too! So I will get all the reports from him! :)

Siani wrote:Can anyone recommend a good shipping agent to Thailand please? Also can anyone hint on who not to use. if this is allowed? I have one name given to me begining with R that someone advised me not to use. Any idea what a rough cost would be for a 20 ft container? What would be the normal price expected to pay? :)
Has anyone used a company called Arcadia Freight Services Ltd? If so were you happy with the service?

I can't speak through experience because I simply left everything behind when I moved so the vultures could have their pick :D , but I do know of an English couple who had a container shipped over, and I'm sure they would be happy to advise. I don't have their number at hand but they own the Manor Hotel at Springfield golf course so you could always contact them via their website, which I think also gives their number. A lovely couple......so no problems there.

I have shipped out of Thailand and what I would be concerned about is who is going to be the agent here. If I was doing it I would be asking who is a reliable company in Thailand, contact them and ask who they use in your own country.
From experince I recommend Transpo / Asian Tigers in Thailand.

Thanks, will contact them for a quote. I had an agent contact me in conjunction with Arcadia Freight Services Ltd, their partner in Thailand was:

Ms.Nisarat Khongphetsak
Asia Trading Post Co.,Ltd.
Nitivitee Air And Sea Service Co.,Ltd.
KPS International Trade (Thailand) Co.,Ltd.

Just wondering if anyone had used them as the quote door to door was quite appealing. Just wondering if anyone had used them as the quote door to door was quite appealing. Anyway, thanks will look at the other options before making a final decision. :)

We have just shipped 24 tea chests from the Uk to HH and used a company called Sevenseas Worldwide very competative and no tea money due this end as well!
Might be worth giving them a call if your still looking for quotes.

Lots of good stuff here about what to bring - esp. furniture. I think I'll be leaving all that behind.

Has anyone imported electronic goods from the UK - TVs, computers etc. - as personal effects?

Both are cheaper in the UK and I'm pretty sure the newish flat screens can receive in PAL2 and NTSC (I think the latter is the broadcast standard in Thailand?).
