Sadly, last nights result was one you could see coming...lose in injury time and Gerrard suffers a re-occurrence of his groin injury.
But what amazes me is that Liverpool have never replaced Robbie Keane.
OK he wasnt setting the world alight at Anfield but was a useful back up for Torres.
Babel is more Tranmere Rovers standard than Liverpool.
They replaced Alonso with Aquilani but he's never played. Its bad luck but shows how much they are missing Alonso.
Maschcerano and Lucas just dont gel together.
The best way forward for Liverpool is to get rid of those two Yank parasites and get some rich Middle East owner in.
I'd keep Benitez because there is no real alternative and he hasnt really been given the funds to keep Liverpool up there.
I suppose the same could be said for Wenger but he's managed to get Arsenal playing better than ever on limited resources....just a better manager than Benitez,I guess.

I was very disappointed that Arsenal gave away a last minute goal, never mind, it could be worse, eh Baa Baa. I read that Benitez has spent 5 years building a 2 man team.

Key word their mate, read.

I also read a great report yesterday about Liverpools defence by Ian Wright.

Apparently we've got 2 great English defenders, Johnson and Carragher but the other 2 aren't good enough.

It's a shame he went on to name midfielder Lucas and Aurelio who's played 1 game on the wing this season as the other 2 defenders. Idiot.

I also read Wenger has won nothing for 4 years.

I read that Liverpool will struggle to make the top 4 this year. What crap people write :D

In the papers yesterday it showed how many points Liverpool have had under Benitez after 9 games.

We've had less points 3 out of 5 times, we finished 3rd in 2 of them.

  really?
now had you said alonso, i would agree :D
keane didn't really do a lot at liverpool & to be fair he's a decent player but nothing special, alonso on the other hand, is :thumb:
he was one of the most consistent & top midfield performers in the premiership over the last few years.

my opinion, for what it's worth, is that benitez has bought sold & used to many players during his reign.
not enough stability :|

if they lose this weekend, the season could be a long hard & fruitless one :|

Alonsos replacement is playing in the reserves tonight and should play against your lot next week RZR.

Keane on the other hand was shocking in his short spell at Liverpool.

i wouldn't say he is a replacement for alonso but he will be a decent addition, IF he stays fit :|
our young guns will give him a nice friendly workout next week & see what he's all about

Not a straight swap exactly but he's Alonsos replacement in the respect that he's going to be the playmaker, albeit further forward than Xabi.

Similar to Cesc in a lot of ways actually.

Well, it was a stroll for the Chels tonight and the Mancs won without breaking sweat. 3 out of 3 for each team.

So BaaBaa, Roy Evans reckons two wins and a draw will see you through -what do you think?

They normally say 10 points but I think we might have to win all three. It's doable but very hard.

Lyon away next.

On the plus side Aquilani played 17 mins for the reserves tonight and he already looks better than Kaka. Image

Thats as maybe but didnt you get about 12m for him when you sold him back to Spurs ?
Why hasnt this money been invested on a decent striker to back up Torres ?
At the moment youve just got Babel,Voronin and Ngog. Paul Sturrock wouldnt have taken those three on at Plymouth !!! :D

Anyway, dont forget they change the clocks in the UK this weekend so Sundays Liverpool v United match will start at 9pm in Thailand (2pm at Anfield).

That's what the fans and I'm sure Benitez are wondering. We haven't got any money.

As for N'gog, he's a 19 year old kid still learning his trade and hasn't done alot wrong, ideally he wouldn't have to be thrown in with the senior team yet but needs must.
