Flying to/from Thailand (Covid Era)
Re: Flying into Thailand, latest updates
Hi Don
We used the Anantara Riverside.about 11200 baht for the two of us. Pick up at airport, test on arrival at hotel(15.00), result arrived in 6 hours but they did warn us it may be 12.00 the next day, hot meal in room (it arrived at 15.30) too early but enough to split in two fo a salad later and breakfast in room if test not arrived or restaurant if result negative.
And two antibody test kits to take away for sixth day test.

This sounds like a positive step forward for people flying in to Thailand.

I’d agree that it’s a step in the right direction although still a bit cumbersome, although I would imagine trying to do the tests at the airport would be chaotic to say the least. Hopefully if things don’t get worse, they may relax further early in the new year.

Hi
We have just done our antibody tests, negative. But there is not a single thing in our packs to denote her test from mine.
Previous tests had a barcode on the test these just have ID. no number or anything on them . Unless we are being particularly obtuse.

Flying into Thailand, latest updates
No mine was the same - just go through the exercise to keep everybody happy - I took a photo of mine next to my passport for what it was worth!! After contacting the hotel where I stayed, they said for me to send them the photo result - I’m sure that’s the last I will hear of it!!B6PTW wrote:Hi

Hi,
I noticed a few posts above that Big Boy stated, "This sounds like a positive step forward for people flying in to Thailand."
Unfortunately I cannot see the tweet, so have no idea what the positive step is.
Can someone either inform me what the positive step is, or point me in the right direction.

OK, the Tweet has been taken down, so this is from memory.
You no longer have to book into a hotel when you get here, but you have to use an approved hotel to book your transport from the airport to a hotel, and to have your ATK (I think) test. It is mentioned in today's brief.

Re: Flying into Thailand, latest updates
I made it back without any problems. Apart from the additional costs involved, it was actually no bother.
Thailand pass was obtained within three days, I managed to get a one hour PCR test in Luxembourg and the whole experience of arriving in Thailand was way less hassle than I was expecting.
I stayed at the Novotel at the airport and it only took 1 hour 15 minutes from the aircraft landing for Covid document check, immigration, transport to the hotel, PCR test and in the hotel room which was much quicker than I was expecting.
I got the PCR result at 01:00, my partner drove up for 06:00 and was home in Hua Hin by 09:00.
Actually, the ticket was less than I would normally pay at this time of year so the overall cost wasn't much more, I just lost about half a day at home.
Having spent most of the last two years doing nothing apart from going to work at an airport, I could even look out of my hotel window at an airport last night so I didn't get any withdrawal symptoms!

Got it after 10 days. I sent a few emails to support and was getting ready to call and up came the accept email. I have no idea why it took so long.m_right wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 11:56 pmIt would be nice if they would tell me if I am rejected and if so why,HHTel wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 5:42 pmI posted earlier that my friend arrived from the US. He applied on the 1st and had the pass issued on the 3rd. So nothing to do with being from the US.m_right wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 4:28 am Applied for my PASS a week ago. Not a peep of response. I didn't write down my confirmation number and it wasn't in my email application received notification. They send it now for new applications. I applied again a few days ago just in case and got a confirmation email with number. When I check that one I get a status of reviewing. I am from the US so maybe it takes many days to review my vaccine certification. In the US we don't have QR codes. What a pain in the ass.
