I've been watching quite a bit of club rugby recently, which has confirmed my opinion that for the neutral observer, rugby is much more entertaining than football.

I'd like to watch more Top 14 French rugby, but the Eurosports commentator (I think his name is Robbie Nock) is so abysmal that he spoils the experience for me. His errms and ums seem to have become an integral part of his speech pattern, as they usually come at a point where no hesitation should be necessary - hugely irritating.

^ I don't watch much of the Top 14, but it's certainly a great league with some top quality players - the money available to the clubs certainly helps!! If you look at the top 10 highest earners in rugby union at the moment, I think something like 9 play in the French league with Sam Burgess the other, playing in the English Premiership for Bath.

The one bonus living back in the UK at the moment is the sport, and for me - rugby. English Premiership, Pro 12, European Championship and Challenge Cups, and also the Top 14 and some Southern Hemisphere rugby........ completely spoilt for choice :thumb:

And of course I have to agree it's a far better game than Wendyball...... :neener: :duck:

Well 'Six Nations' kick off soon and no comments about the likely winners yet. Of course my money is on England but is no one going to open up with a Superbru league?

Whilst we've never met Richard, I think I can consider you a friend through the forum.... With this in mind, rather than make that bet, give me a tenner and I'll buy you a pint - at least that way, you'll get something back from "your money"!! :neener: :butt:

Good God, up to 7 members within an hour!! Of course all approved with thanks and welcoming arms..... even Beelzebub's supporters!! You'll also note a few non-forum members in the league, mostly have been there since Day 1, but there is a new member also - I hope this is OK with all. At the end of the day, the league would be fairly short without them........ and of course I'm biased in adding Welsh members!!

Well, just a day away from kick-off.......  :sun:

Beelzebub and his minions refuse to have the roof closed........ what's the deal there, whatever happened to home advantage and the home team's choice?? The atmosphere a little too daunting for the Lillywhites?? I hear in preparation that they are blasting out crowd noise and hymns at training :naughty:

A lot has been said about England's injury woes and the fact that they have a vastly weakened team....... absolute b*ll*cks - they can call on 3 or 4 British & Irish Lions from the bench! Jonathan Joseph also comes in at center - and quite frankly that worries me as a Welshman... the guy is a class act who can turn a game on it's head. He's the "form" center in the Premiership this season and certainly deserves his start...... Just wish it was in a couple of week's time!!

As for God's Own, a much as expected team selection and it'll be interesting to see how the mid-field go against their counterparts - a big difference in size and style.

Anyways, couldn't afford the (VIP) tickets offered to me at 1,200 GBP a pop   , so shall enjoy the game with my fellow Taffs at the local Social Club...... at 2 quid a pint :D :thumb:

On at stupid o'clock in Thailand, but at least as it's on the BBC, so can be watched on iPlayer or "Catch-up TV". For those wanting to watch at 2am or so without access to iPlayer etc., the match can be streamed through http://cricfree.sx/rugby-live-streaming.

Happy viewing and best of luck to all with the exception of Beelzebub and his followers of course.. :neener:

Well, today's the DAY   :sun:   !! It feels like Christmas morning as a kid and in the words of The Pointer Sisters... I'm so Excited, and I just..... (well, you know what I mean). The Long Haired General is already p*$$*d off with it, the dog is in hiding and I'm banned from shopping at "Bargain Booze"..... but hey, where there's a will there's a way!!

The weather is spot on here in South Wales - cold, crisp and clear. With the new pitch, excellent conditions for the match..... despite Beelzebub's lieutenant's attempts at "lowering" the atmosphere in the stadium.

Really not too sure how the game is going to be played.... I was of the opinion Satan's XV would keep it tight in the forwards, but if Ford at 10 is on form and with Joseph at 12 who knows...... also with Mike Brown (arrogant tw@t, but great player) at Full Back, the Lillywhites certainly have their options.

God's Own by 10 points - Cymru am Byth!!

Oh pharvey, I feel for you!
Well, sort of... just a little bit...

I was a bit worried after the first 10 minutes, but England proved to be the better team by quite a margin, particularly in the 2nd half. Could easily have scored another try or two (taking the score up to my 10 point prediction, but never mind!).

A good game, though hardly a classic. In the circumstances, Lancaster and the lads will have a lot to be pleased about.

Great start by Wales who looked un-stoppable at the start, but they must have all had a double portion of Ovaltine during the half time break as they were dreadful in the second half. Well done to England who deserved the win.

I've just finished watching the match, so I can look at this thread now :D

Wales blew themselves out in the first 15 minutes. England just bode their time, and the inevitable score happened. Wales need to learn that a game of rugby is 80 minutes long.
