Flying to/from Thailand (Covid Era)
Re: Flying into Thailand, latest updates
A point to show that things can be done quickly when put to the test. Unfortunately this comes from a sad situation. My friend from the US who arrived last week, had a phone call this morning with the news that his elderly father had had a heart attack in the care home where he stayed. Now in ICU.
That was around 10am. By the end of the day, he'd completed a PCR test with the results, booked a flight back to the states and is now at the airport waiting his flight.
Unfortunate circumstances. He plans to return next month knowing now that it's not so difficult!

It would be nice if they would tell me if I am rejected and if so why,HHTel wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 5:42 pmI posted earlier that my friend arrived from the US. He applied on the 1st and had the pass issued on the 3rd. So nothing to do with being from the US.m_right wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 4:28 am Applied for my PASS a week ago. Not a peep of response. I didn't write down my confirmation number and it wasn't in my email application received notification. They send it now for new applications. I applied again a few days ago just in case and got a confirmation email with number. When I check that one I get a status of reviewing. I am from the US so maybe it takes many days to review my vaccine certification. In the US we don't have QR codes. What a pain in the ass.

We have been waiting 9 days since application in the UK, emailed and just the automated reply stating a 3 to 5 day timeframe for an actual answer.
We fly on Friday 19th so will try to call on Monday.
We received our Thailand pass iin 4 days.
With reference to the above, we have just received our visas, it appears they are reviewing and granting close to travel dates.
Next PCR test then hopefully home free.

Re: Flying into Thailand, latest updates
As most of you will be aware, the Thailand Pass procedure lists the requirements to apply for and then enter Thailand. The arrival process includes for taking a RT PCR test on the day of arrival and after a negative result is received you’re allowed to travel anywhere in Thailand, however you are also required to take an antigen test on day 6 or 7 - it says you should get your accommodation representative to upload the results on Mor Chana - I have the app on my phone but nowhere (I can find) does it allow you to download your results. As I’m not staying in a hotel I have nobody to ask so wondering whether anyone is likely to check up on me? Has anybody read anything about how it can/should be done? TIA

Got it last night. 10 days. I have no idea why it took so long.m_right wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 4:28 am Applied for my PASS a week ago. Not a peep of response. Re: Flying into Thailand, latest updates
Arrived back today.
We saw many people at the UK airport with problems, several had used travel agents who said they could get the Thailand pass for them and were actually sent to the airport without the pass. I spoke to one guy who had received a call from his agent telling him he would receive the pass by the time he got to the airport, obviously did not happen.
I felt sorry for the check in staff who were dealing with several irate travellers when it was not their fault.
For us a good flight and we did a stop in Phuket and most got off the flight there, a quick hour and then Bangkok.
Not many of us so we flew through health check and immigration. As I believe Dannie boy said the hotel pick up was organised chaos, but no problem.
The hotel have been excellent, transfer for the two of us only immediate test on arrival result in 6 hours, good food and general advice.
The only thing was our evening hot meal arrived at 15.30 hrs, but there was enough for two meals for two people so the side salads and half the cooked chicken and half the deserts went in the fridge with the cold drinks for later.
Overall pain free entry, the only stressor was waiting for the visas until 2 days before travel.

Re: Flying into Thailand, latest updates
I'm possibly going to need to fly to Saudi in a weeks time, to go to work for a month.
Has anyone had experience of flying out of Thailand in recent weeks?
Does anyone know what the requirements are to get on a plane these days?
Do I need a vaccine passport?
Where can I go to get it?
Any help would be appreciated.

Did you have to show any proof of medical insurance?B6PTW wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 10:25 pm Arrived back today.

I thought they checked mine when I arrived at BKK - not immigration but by the ladies collecting all your paperwork before immigration? And of course it’s needed for the Thailand Pass applicationB6PTW wrote:Not at the airports but for the Visa yes..

Well I did as requested, completed the form and uploaded a photo of my passport and test result (negative) and received a message “you have successfully registered, please bring your passport/ID to the first floor of building one on ……… and no date!!Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 2:59 pmOk thanks, I’ll give it a try in a few days time.hhinner wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 1:27 pmReporting ATK tests results to HHH.Dannie Boy wrote:As most of you will be aware, the Thailand Pass procedure lists the requirements to apply for and then enter Thailand. This is not what I was expecting and looks like I will have to go to the hospital tomorrow and try and resolve it.

At Bangkok before immigration they wanted passport, Thailand pass, boarding card and, TM6., you are correct the Visa and Thailand pass both require proof of health insurance.

Ok you may be correct, I just handed over a wallet that contained everything I had brought with me, so maybe they disregarded anything not needed.B6PTW wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 10:10 am B6PTW wrote:
