Clean Hua Hin's beaches movement - Trash Hero
Re: Clean Hua Hin's beaches movement - Trash Hero
32 Beach Heroes (including 1 child) cleared 14 big sacks of rubbish weighing a total of 170Kg from the area around the Pattaya Ferry Pier yesterday.
That's a lot of rubbish, considering how often the Heroes visit the area. Well done guys.

This Sunday 3rd November at 5pm, our Clean Up Heroes will be returning to continue the cleaning of Soi 102, at the corner of... the first street left, after passing the railroad (coming from Petchkassem). Map ref: 12.5457009, 99.9579296
There was so much rubbish last week, they have no option but to return to try to finish the job. It would be nice if a few Soi 102 residents helped to clear their own backyard.
All Heroes, old and new will be very welcome.

A short video of the Beach Heroes at work this afternoon.
Re: Clean Hua Hin's beaches movement - Trash Hero
There is very little detail about yesterdays cleans in Hua Hin. We've seen the video from the Beach Heroes, and the Clean Up Heroes have posted this photo, but no actual detail. I will update you later if I gear anything.

34 Beach Heroes (including 2 kids) cleared a massive 220 Kg of rubbish from the area around Navy Phirom yesterday afternoon. The haul of rubbish included 2 full sacks of recyclables.
A huge thank you all involved.

Re: Clean Hua Hin's beaches movement - Trash Hero
Very commendable. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before (I've certainly thought it), but the Navy Phirom area always seems to produce more rubbish (often twice as much) than any other beach clean. Is there a 'natural' reason for this?

Re: Clean Hua Hin's beaches movement - Trash Hero
I'm afraid it's a bit of a mystery tour to join the Clean Up Heroes this Sunday 17th Nov at 5pm.
In their own words:
Good luck to those embarking on the mystery tour - I'm sure it'll be fun.

I have put the above coordinates into Google Maps, and it seems to be in the middle of a forest, with no easy road access. It seems to be somewhere between Shiva Indian Restaurant and the grounds of Chon Dong Villa. Our meeting point this Sunday is not to far from town. Just follow the GPS co-ordination. Hope to see you there!

After seeing all of these weekly installments I really wish one week I would see that they take what they collect and deposit it on the Thesaban Building steps.
Of course there and in all Thai towns where Trash Hero activities are going on there seems to be silence from the local Gov., not even a thank you to the Thais and foreigners doing their job for them.
It is not people's civic responsibility to clean up other people's trash. It's the Gov's responsibility to teach people not to dump their garbage wherever they want, and frankly to have their own program to clean it up with the funding they receive from tax revenues.
