What a load of twaddle! What gives you the right to name, so decisively, the top 5 bars in HH? If there were a vote organised, you would get as many different votes as there are members on this forum. Sure, some would overlap, but we all want different things from a bar. Some want pretty bg's, some want sport, some want live music, some want cheap beer or a good selection of beers, some want a good fry-up, some want a good cocktail list, somewhere to take the wife & kids, nearness to their home or hotel, where they know lots of people, open-air, air-con, a quiet place, a lively place; the list is endless. There is not one bar in HH that can meet all those criteria (and no-one would go there if there was). So get off your high horse, admit that your opinion is just that, your opinion (& perfectly valid for you) & stop slagging off places where a great many members are perfectly happy to go & enjoy themselves.
I will take the time and agree or disagree with your statement. The 5 Bars I have mentioned fit the majority of the criteria you have mentioned, all have cooking facilitie's, all have a fine selection of draught and bottled beers, all have a fine cocktail list, all cater for famile's as they all have food area's, Butterfly rock is the only one that have regular live music venue's. BG's are irrelevant, if the Bar doe's not have them and you really want one to go with, then you can bring your own choice. The sport I think is well catered for in all the bars I have mentioned.

Lets face it the rest of the bars are the same, BG's and a Pool Table shoved in the corner if your lucky.

Do not understand the remark "not all can meet all those criteria (and no- one would go there if there was)"

Hope you find this constructive? :guns:

Skandi such a shame you’ve had such a sad sheltered life and such a small issue gets you into such a state, surely there are more important things in life to worry about than A bars popularity this is obviously a direct personal attack for some reason. If you don’t like the place stay under your shit pile and don’t frequent the place.

As you can see from the responses many people like the place which says something different to your tedious immature ranting

Perhaps you should spend your time learning how to spell and punctuate your posts in a form of English that people can understand.
If you cannot see the post that you were talking about was meant to be a bit tounge in cheek (a joke), I do not know how much easier people can make it for you.

After reading the other posts from members about the bar in question (other than yourself), no one else has had a bad thing to say about the bar you are on about.
If you are trying to make yourself look a complete wally, you are doing a great job of it.

I suggest that it it bothers you so much, that you do the simple thing and never go in the bar again. I am sure that most of the users of this forum that drink in the bar and the owners, would be more than happy for you to never darken their doors again.

I just pity any of the other bar owners and their patrons whose bar you decide to drink in.

My advise is: do not open a bar. Stevedoring would be a Virgin territory, much as car rentals would.

The actual quote was that there was "not one" bar in HH that could meet those criteria & no-one would go there if there was. If you'd looked at what I'd put, you'd see some of the criteria were mutually exclusive.

Hard to have an open-air, airconditioned bar. Difficult to find one that's quiet & lively. Hard to watch sports in one with live music. It might be interesting to take the wife & kids to a bar that you go to in order to be with pretty bg's, but I wouldn't recommend it. And as for finding one bar that is near to every member's hotel or abode I would say is damn near impossible! Just one that caters for all locations?

I certainly wasn't putting down the bars you mentioned. One of them would rate in my top 5, but my other 4 would be totally different. Because my opinion is different from yours!! As I said, your opinion is yours and valid for you. But don't try to tell others what to think, they don't tend to appreciate it.

Steve, you are more transparent than cling film. This is because you are unable to hide your identity as you lack the capacity to contain your bitterness towards certain areas.

The bar and it's owner you mention are popular and well-liked, unlike your goodself. Get over it and get a life.

To me a bar using a slogan on the internet is nothing compared to some businesses who piggy-back on the success of large multi-national's and use their name.
Music CD or cheap transatlantic flight anyone ???? - Doh!

Red Dwarf, if that guy Skandi was to open a bar as you suggested, perhaps he should name it "Billy No Mates". Seems he suffers from that situation, according to what a few of the posters on this matter have pointed out.

Keep it up skandii...... any publicity is good publicity all this will just make folk curious about SC bar and they will probably go just to see the internal water features you mentioned, so you have actually done SC a favor with your rant people will go, spend and evaluate for them selves. Have you ever thought of opening a vinegar factory with all them sour grapes you have?

LOL

Would peeling off his skin and marinating himself in a bath of Tetley's make him any more bitter ?
Nah, doubt it.

A good honest answer, thanks for that. I must say though if their was a bar that had it all I believe it would be quite popular.

I answered it ages ago, I said it was a 'tongue-in-cheek slogan'. I never said it was the best bar, I said it was a popular, welcoming, freindly bar. I think you are confusing me with someone else.

The ironic thing is you have done quite a bit here to actually promote the place. Are you their PR officer ? :D
