I've just changed into my winter clothes.
I went out onto the veranda for my morning coffee and had to go inside. I think I’ve turned into a big weenie since moving to Thailand. I don’t know what the actual temp is, but it was a bit too cool and windy for me in shorts and a t-shirt.
It's 22 degrees and it's actually raining as I write this but you probably wouldn't even notice it

Siri tells me that that is 71.6 F. Yup, I’m a gigantic weenie now. When I lived in Seattle that would be more than warm enough for me to walk around in shorts and a tee all day. The wind might be having something to do with it, but I was not comfortable.

Our doors and windows are open, the breeze is blowing, and I'm wearing a long sleeve T and pajama pants.
This is one of the few days in nearly 9 yrs. that the air con hasn't been on.
I love it.

What a difference a day makes! The temperature was noticeably warmer by the early hours of the morning and now is more near normal.
Fans are back on. Socks, blankets, jackets etc have been shed.

My room dropped to 26 last night (No AC obviously)

Slept in a t shirt with a blanket too. Absolutely unheard of(what a wuss)!!

There must be something to this relative temperature mullarkey and how it affects your brain and body. I certainly wouldn't feel cold at 26 indoors in my UK house

I spoke with my daughter in the UK about our temp at 20/22 and how cold it feels.
They have snow in April. 22C would bring out the Mr. Whippy icecream vans in the UK.

She couldn't muster any sympathy and couldn't stop laughing!

Yes but depends what you live in!

Somewhat oddly the warmer temperatures have yet to penetrate my west facing room of a multi storey apartment block

This device hasn't moved position in months and yesterday morning it read 28.7(now 27.4)

I'm sure my room will warm back up as the day progresses. But it was colder this morning than yesterday morning for certain. And especially the bedroom area(something to do with window glazing i think).

Naturally for a single storey house at ground level the sun will affect it much quicker

Google says feels like 29 today versus 22 yesterday

Mine is a large 2 storey house with double walls throughout yet the difference between yesterday and today is very different.

Doors and windows are still open but now wearing short sleeve shirt and shorts. Still pleasant.
We live in a single-story, north/south facing windows house. Probably need the air con by later this afternoon and certainly by tomorrow.
It was nice while it lasted.

My condo is really warming up now but was colder this morning than yesterday for sure. Different types of buildings and I don't get sun until 14.00

I can't remember a year where we didn't get some amount of rain during Songkran week.

Intense heat, then thunderstorms forecast for Songkran

https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/ge ... r-songkran

Revellers can expect hot weather during the Songkran festival followed by gusty winds and thunderstorms, the Meteorological Department has warned.

The weather forecast called for high temperatures and overcast skies until Friday followed by strong winds and storms in all regions except the South.

The northern and northeastern regions could see the mercury reach 40°C in Mae Hong Son, Lampang, Tak and Buri Ram during the Thai New Year celebration that started on Wednesday.

Temperatures in Greater Bangkok could go up to 39°C, with Pathum Thani the hottest province.

Lampang, neighbouring Sukhothai and Uthai Thani were the hottest places on Tuesday as temperatures went up to 40°C, according to the department's latest data.

The country will end the long break with summer storms over the weekend.

The predicted overnight rain never came and they’ve now saying this afternoon - the sky is largely blue although the clouds out towards the sea are starting to build up and there’s thunder in the distance - maybe you’re getting rain now Pete?

Big storm between 0530 and 0630, then clear. Now clouds building again and thunder. Over here they're saying rain all day. In fact, all week. We need it.

I believe it's time for my yearly termite warning! :D

The good news (for Mrs BB & I) is we got around Khao Tao Lake bone dry. Very loud thunder all around us, and the hills misted up around the lake, but the rain never got to us. We even saw people with umbrellas up on other parts of the perimeter path. However, now we're home, the rain is here with a vengeance.
