What is your location because my gauge was zero last night at 2200hrs and the total rain today ( I do not think it rained between 2200 and 2400 last night) as at this time 1350 the total today is 60mm so a big difference to you?

Had a good 6 inches today down in the south, yard flooded, pond overflowing, pumps running at full to get rid of it all. Just like rainy season again!

Morning all,

Has there been any rain overnight does anyone know?

Trying to work out if my golf course has had enough time to drain so that i could play it this afternoon(provided no further rain of note)

We had some rain during the night, but I don’t live near any golf courses so I don’t think that will help you!! Now if you post a more specific question, you might get a more specific answer

i was expecting a higher figure

146mm last two days, thats almost 10 times the monthly average in 2 days

The rain yesterday, although sustained, was very much lighter than that on Tuesday.

Careful how I ask this but is anyone else hearing 'booming' noises near them?

It's definitely not thunder, the booms are too short and quickly repeated

Almost small explosions!

Clean answers only please

True, plus a lot of it fell before 07.00 on Wed so would be in Tuesdays figure of 93mm.

Very likely from transformers or 'junctions'. In most cases it causes a 'trip' that needs to be physically reset.
They do cause a bang when they 'short'.

Edit: Sorry that was meant to be in reply to TheColonel re the 'booms' heard.

Huge storms here in the east, and it shows that it's skirting Hua Hin as well. Headed right up the gap in the gulf for Bangkok.

There is now a huge area of low pressure over southern and western China and northern Thailand, and as per previously, the high pressure area over eastern China and the South China sea has now caused what was a south easterly airflow to now veer even more to the south. There has been no rain where I am in Bangkok, or any threat of it.

It is now raining in Bangkok, or rather, it is more of a mist. No wind or storm activity.
Just a futher indication of how conditions can rapidly change.
