I thought I’d have a go at making some sausage rolls as it’s a typical food eaten on Boxing Day in the UK and we’re getting close - they turned out pretty good, even if I say so myself!!

Yes they do look good, we'll come round on boxing day to taste them
I think you’d better call in this evening, otherwise they’ll begone!!

We spoke about the best way to cook a frozen pie, but from fresh there’s only one option - it has to be in a conventional oven

Anyone here make their own sausage? If so where do you get the casings? Thanks!
From the Moo shop on the corner of Soi 70/Phetkasem Road - the last time I bought them it was a large bag, so I put lengths into freezer bags and freeze them- never had any problems using them for up to six months, just give them a good rinse after they have defrosted.

My son says the pork shop Mooana on the corner of Soi 68 will have natural intestines. Failing that, Lazada looks to have a lot.
Yes that’s the place I was referring to, but got the Soi wrong, it’s 68 not 70!!
Well, can't say how authentic this is or whether there's better alternatives, but thoroughly enjoyed this one! I used some sirloin steak - perhaps difficult/expensive to get good beef cuts it HH(?). Might just try with Pork Loin next time.
Anywho, to the recipe....

This is an excellent dish and to me the ingredients look what they should be. Can't say anything about the amounts as Thai cooks don't usually measure the ingredients they put in, they just trust their experience on that.
I'm sure I've asked/mentioned this one before - I've looked elsewhere without much luck. A fair few years ago (and a few times since) had a dish in Turkey - we were well away from the big towns etc. so have never been able to get the recipe or much close to it. What it was was a spicy Eggplant (Aubergine) mix, roasted with a mix of spices - served cold as a dip with hot flat bread (or similar) absolutely wonderful! I'm still searching, so any ideas.....!!
During one of my "searches", I recently found a recipe which to be honest is nothing like the above, BUT sounds great and with the addition of some fresh or powdered chilli etc.....
