No sign of rain here, as usual. Maybe I'll get the kids to wash the cars, do a bit of mowing and put the sprinklers on.

If that doesn't bring about rain, then I give up!

While I was at HHH, getting my Shake 'n' Vac, about 1.30, it absolutely smashed it down for about 30 minutes.

Great views from 10th floor, or not as case may be. Black skies....

We’re onto our third and by far the heaviest downpour - about 4cm so far and still raining heavily

It was only this morning that I checked the stats, following your post last Tuesday

Based on first 22 days we were on track for a low rainfall month(55mm versus 71mm average August ie - 23%)

But will be interesting to see what gets recorded for today and how it affects the figures

Same here. I tried everything. Washed the cars. Spent the day mowing the lawns. Even put the sprinklers on.

Watched the very black clouds over HH along with thunder and lightning. I'd almost given up. Then at 4pm we got rain. Not heavy. What I call UK rain. However, coming up to 10 past and it's stopped!

Rained heavy in Snoreprong, electricity out for 4 1/2 hrs. Same thing happened when someone sneezed.

Power in our part of the Phrong went out too. Only for about 5 seconds though. But the freezer part of the fridge (inverter type) stopped freezing. Fortunately I noticed after about an hour and powered it off for a minute then back on. OK after that.

According to ThaiMet...

We got 16.4 mm yesterday

To put into perspective that's 7 days of typical August rain in 1 day

So we're now back on track for normal Aug rainfall

September should be a lot wetter than August (120mm versus 71mm)

And last October was a deluge. From memory we got more than double the average and its already the wettest month of the year in Hua Hin(246mmm average)!

I live on the outskirts of Cha Am but we definitely got a lot more than 16mm of rain yesterday - probably 40+ so these averages can vary enormously

Lovely looking place you have there Dannie Boy. Rather jealous as I type from my little box in North London.
