Busy this morning at Bluport. Everything moving slowly but the ladies marshaling everyone are doing a good job. A large school group arrived not long ago, surprised they have not arranged school visits.
Better getting it now before the holidays hit.

Alert: Stay tuned for the official government announcement about this, probably later today or tomorrow.

Health ministry revises criteria for administration of booster vaccine doses

https://thethaiger.com/coronavirus/heal ... cine-doses

The Public Health Ministry has revised the formula for the administration of Covid-19 booster vaccine doses, according to a Nation Thailand report. The confirmation follows chatter on social media that the ministry had changed the criteria, prompting Thailand’s Anti-Fake News Centre to investigate and confirm it was true. According to the Nation Thailand report, the new criteria for getting a third or fourth booster dose is as follows:

For people over the age of 18, the third booster should be administered no more than 3 months after the second vaccine dose. A fourth dose should be given no more than 4 months after the third dose. People can also opt to receive a half dose of Pfizer as a booster, at their doctor’s discretion.

Young people between the ages of 12 and 17 should receive a full dose of Pfizer, or another mRNA vaccine, as their third dose, which should be administered between 4 and 6 months after the second dose.

Those who’ve recovered from Covid-19 infection should wait 3 months before receiving a booster dose.

Meanwhile, the Public Health Ministry says that while 2 vaccine doses will not necessarily protect someone from becoming infected with the Omicron variant, it significantly decreases their chances of dying from the virus. A third dose can protect against infection in around 45 to 68% of patients and against death in 98%. A fourth dose can protect against infection in 82% of people.

The ministry is urging people who have not done so to get a third vaccine dose, as officials ramp up efforts to administer booster doses to 70% of the elderly population ahead of the Songkran holiday next month.

I wouldn't say I'm giving that advice (wouldn't presume to do so) but I am seeing a good number of articles where people who are much more knowledgeable than me, are raising doubts over whether there's enough evidence to recommend a fourth shot for healthy adults at this time.

I'm confused by conflicting info on this particular point

For the 4th vaccine(2nd booster) I'm reading above.. A fourth dose should be given no more than 4 months after the third dose.

But i look at the chart posted by Punyisa on FB group and it says 4 months ie you have to wait 4 months after 3rd vaccine

Both of these criteria cannot be correct!

Can anyone clarify please?

TIA

Thanks for the info but what is correct "no more than 3months after the second dose" or "more than 3months after the second dose" ? I ask because the link in the Nation says "more than 3months after the second dose"

On the day I was there it took about two and a half hours. Originally jabs were scheduled on the previous day but it was changed and this may have affected things. I was there just before ten and suspect the waiting time may have been less if you arrive after eleven.

While it was advertised that vaccinations were starting at 0900, when I got there at 0845 registration was well under way. I had two queues of about ten minutes each, followed by two desks with no queue and when I got to the actual vaccination point the two medical staff were waiting for the next warm body to walk through the door. If I had to go again (or when I have to go again . . .) I will be there at about 0815ish.
