Thanks all and well done everyone!

I actually made things worse for myself by changing Arsenal for a draw to a win after I learnt who was not playing for Pompey! Didn't matter in the end.

The last couple of weeks were hard, as teams rested players, which was a drag but everyone (with the exception of WL) suffered equally!! And I bet Neil Warnock has nice things to say about Alex Ferguson today!!!

And good to have a top five finish for the league!! Thats quite an achievement.

Oh well, when I'm back from the daily grind later, I'll open a bottle of bubbly and do a lap of honour around the front room! :D

My prediction for Saturday - a Utd. win. The heart says otherwise, but I think that Chelsea are looking very tired and Utd. have the buzz of winning the league - lets hope they overdo the celebrating.

See you all next year, I hope.

OK, I'm registered and joined last years mini league using the old code. Don't know what will happen this year and if same code to be used, but anyway, I'm in there now. BB = bankers bonus, but what does TW mean? Pete

PS: Noiticed that if you hit the "binoculars" icon next to a name, you see their stats and also a list of what looks like game leaders in all mini leagues. Also a way to pick someone to "watch" on a regular basis. Did any of you guys "watch" one of the leaders before you Made your pciks last year? Is that legal with Bamboo Grove's league or do we need to do it cold each week?

Hi Pete

I think "TW" means "This Week"

I'm sure someone will soon correct me if I'm wrong

I played the game last year both as an 'Individual Player' (bradders60)and in a Mini League which I was kinda "pushed into" - the mini league did NOT do too well!!

I finished with 2,520 points - which placed me 489th from a listed 71,408 individual players. Would that be good enought to allow me to join the Hua Hin After Dark Mini League?

(Naturally like every other player I will be attempting to do better next season!!! )

Congrats to the Hua Hin After Dark team - a VERY commendable finishing position!!! :thumb:

Good Luck next season!!

PS If I'm allowed to join your mini-league will someone kindly send me the teams entry Code

Bradders - I'm sure everyone will agree it will be good to have some new blood in the league. Hope you don't go repeating that score though!

Pete - you can only view others individual entries - the score they have predicted for each game - after each weeks games have finished, or as they update the league when a "week" stretches overe a longer period.

What you can do is get an update on a total score achieved as it progresses.

Not sure that I have explained that at all well - its confusing me? :? :thumb:

Pete,
If you look at the HHAD league, there's TW - this week's points - and a cumulative total. As Caller says, naturally you can't see anyone elses' predictions, but you can follow their week's scores as they happen and are entered on the database. So, the week will start on a Saturday, when quite a few games will be played, but there will also be others on any other day of the week. Once Saturday's games have been played, you can check how everyone's done on that day (on the Sunday over here). And so on and so on.
I seem to remember that the code for HHAD league was the same this year as last, but BG'll be able to confirm that. I think he's away for another day or two.
Again, BG's the organiser, but I would have thought the more the merrier in our hard fought for league. Don't think there's any finite number of participants.
This forthcoming season's gonna be different!!!!! I was looking over my shoulder at relegation last season, after winning the year before (that was a flash in the pan. I don't really know that much about football).
Any other questions, about the scoring system etc, ask away. But they did change it a bit last season, so it might be worth waiting until IKTS announce how it'll be run this season. There won't be too much difference, if any. Maybe some small "tweaks".

Thanks guys. Now my questions begin. I understand the game well, but not the English league, be patient with this virgin please...LOL.

Newcastle just signed Sam Allardyce as the new manager. What did he do for Bolton? I have only read " signed proven talent at bargain fees..."?

Sammy Lee has replaced him at Bolton. Where is he from?

Last, I see Arsnal has lost their Captain. Is this serious for them? Pete

Hi Lomuamart

I'm fairly certain a Mini League Team can have up to 50 players - no more.

Hence my question if I could join your squad next year - you may already have that number - or more -contesting places!!

For example - you did mention you could have been relegated!! Only joking :P

All good competitive stuff........ bradders

Get in there bradders. I think we had only 19 or so regulars last season, so there's plenty of room, I should think.
Pete, you're getting a bit bloody scientific already!! Studying the transfer market. I always find it best to write the fixtures down on a piece of paper, close my eyes and stick a pin in. The team closest to where the pin lands gets my prediction. If it's equidistant from the two teams, that's a draw. My banker goes on whoever is on top of the proper league at the time and my insurance on any team I just don't like that week.
I'm normally lucky if I don't impale my hand.

Pete, if you want to know about English soccer go and ask a Thai farmer, they know a damn sight more about it than I do!

Thanks for the green light Lomuamart - I'll be delighted to register with the team!

Please let me know what your Mini League's registration Code Number is on the IKTS website - thanks!

You may have had only 19 or so team members last year but you did finish in a highly commendable 5th place - not bad considering a certain someone who's a team member " sticks pins in a piece of paper" to predict the results !!!!!!!!!

Now, who is that student of the game ??????

That said, there was -and always will be - some crazy & unpredictable results - - now - where did I put that bloody pin ???? !!!

GOOD LUCK NEXT SEASON - ONLY A FEW WEEKS TO GO!!!!

Probably best to wait for our organiser to get back to HH. He knows the code. There will be more announcements soon.

The registration will start in early August, so no codes before that. And yes, I´m crying for Henry to leave Arsenal and the Premier League but one day I´ll be sober enough to start the new season.

I'm sure Arsenal will quickly get over Henry's departure and will be a force in the PL in the coming season, maybe even finishing in the top 4 again, so cheer up BG. :)
