Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has directed the Ministry of Transport and other government agencies to support efforts to address the dust and smog pollution problem in Bangkok. Starting tomorrow, January 25 through January 31, the public will be able to use all electric train lines for free, including BMA public buses.

Oh dear, its turning into Bangkok ...

Hua Hin Municipality advises public to limit outdoor activities due to air pollution
Authorities in Hua Hin have urged residents and visitors to limit strenuous outdoor activities due to elevated levels of PM2.5 air pollution, which have exceeded safety standards in parts of Prachuap Khiri Khan province.

During a meeting held on 3 February 2025, chaired by Mr. Siraphan Kamonpramot, Advisor to the Mayor of Hua Hin, local officials discussed measures to mitigate the effects of poor air quality. The meeting was attended by Deputy Mayors Ms. Phailin Kongphan, Ms. Bussaba Choksuchat, and Mr. Atichat Chaisi, as well as Mr. Udom Duangkhae, President of the Municipal Council, municipal council members, and government department heads.

Hua Hin Municipality advised the public to minimise the duration of physically demanding outdoor activities and exercise. High-risk individuals, including young children, the elderly, pregnant women, and those with pre-existing health conditions, were encouraged to wear PM2.5 protective masks when outdoors and to seek medical attention if they experience symptoms such as eye irritation, breathing difficulties, or coughing.

Good luck to them. Waste dump fires are second only to vehicle tyres in difficulty to extinguish.

OMG, after a few decent days, I see the poisonous air is back. I actually believed the poor air quality season had ended early.

Unless they have special features, I dont think humidifiers have any effect on air impurities.

^I don't know if you're car has this but my new BYD has a readout for PM2.5, both inside and outside in small figures in the top left hand corner of the Nav display.

Yes my Sealion has it too, although I keep forgetting to see how low the indicator gets for inside and how high for outside - I’ve noticed a figure of 77 for outside but doubt that’s the highest it has reached and I believe I’ve seen single digit figures for inside - I’ll take a closer look next time I go on a journey.

So, if you have readouts, does that mean you have air purification filters withing the cars? A great idea, and I've been wondering for a while if such things were available for knack cars like mine.

I've answered my own question - loads available on Lazada. Does anybody have such a beast? Are there any recommendations?
