Dates when no alcohol sold in Hua Hin
Re: Dates when no alcohol sold in Hua Hin
Right, the Songkran ban was fairplay but this is just ridiculous and will force everything into bootlegging and a black market with people brewing and selling their own hooch ...
The only upside is that Thailand's two beverage monopolies will be suffering badly.

Bangkok proposes reopening bars, parks, salons
By Coconuts Bangkok Apr 28, 2020 | 5:06pm Bangkok time
Restaurants, bars, barber shops and public parks are among eight types of venues the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority today said it will propose reopening – soon.
Bangkok Gov. Aswin Kwanmuan on Tuesday identified the venues among those city administrators may let reopen as disease control measures are relaxed in response to falling numbers of new coronavirus infections.
Appealing for patience, Prayuth coy on lifting restrictions
Whatever they propose is up to approval by the Department of Disease Control, which should have the final word by Wednesday. No date for reopening has been announced despite speculation it could happen as soon as Monday.
Airlines are expected to resume domestic service on Friday, and most bans on alcohol sales are set to be lifted that same day.
Different conditions were suggested for each of the eight venues:
Bars and restaurants: Dining in would be allowed but each table must be 1.5 meters apart.
Non-food markets
Sports venues: Some activities and sports that do not involve crowds such as jogging, badminton and tennis would be allowed. Team sports with close contact such as basketball or soccer would remain forbidden.
Public parks
Barbershops and salons: Only haircuts, hair washing and drying would be allowed. Barbers must wear face shields at all times. Reservations only. No walk-ins allowed.
Pet salons, vet clinics: Only one pet would be allowed to use the service at a time.
Clinics and hospitals
Golf courses and athletic training venues

Well that completely contradicts every other report stating that bars will be the last thing to open. And ... what is the point in opening a bar when alcohol sales are banned?

This(posted by The Thaiger Phuket earlier today) says June 15 for bars but I'd be surprised at thatbuksida wrote:Well that completely contradicts every other report stating that bars will be the last thing to open. And ... what is the point in opening a bar when alcohol sales are banned?
Also would bars be national or by province?

Regardless of that statement, it does appear that bars are in the 'Red' zone and won't be opened before June 15th.Airlines are expected to resume domestic service on Friday, and most bans on alcohol sales are set to be lifted that same day.

And the confusion continues. City Hall Hua Hin says that restaurants will be allowed to open.
The Bangkok governor has also issued statements which allows many businesses to open.
And this from the CCSA, the same people who gives us those daily briefings:

Thailand could allow alcohol sales for two days before new ban is enforced

Lock me down! I'm fine. Just bought 4 litres of gin, a box of wine and a bottle of Malibu. Prices were the same as you would pay in a shop. Except.......... it was all Duty Free!
I'm not going to ask questions!

This morn, on TV, their was a panel answering questions from reporters. Concerning alcohol sales it was said, that the ban is to remain until further notice in order to curb domestic violence and people drunk driving.
In the US, there has been no ban on alcohol and domestic violence is rising.
You may draw your own conclusions.

Looks like the booze ban is official

BANGKOK — Ban on sales of alcoholic beverages remain in effect until further notice, the government said Thursday.
A nationwide ban on alcohol sales, which is supposed to expire today, will last until the government decides otherwise, interior affairs ministry perm-sec Chatchai Promlert said.
“Liquor is one of the factors that lead to the risk of infection,” Chatchai said. “It involves gathering of people, so as the prime minister has stated earlier, we will continue the ban until the government announces new measures on this matter.”
He also refuted the rumors that there will be a “grace period” for buying alcohol between May 1 to 2. Those two days are now covered under the renewed ban.
The ban on alcohol sales were initially enacted differently by individual provincial governors, but government officials today said the authorities in each provinces must act in accordance with the central government’s guidelines.

Re: Dates when no alcohol sold in Hua Hin
Some provinces as Prachuap have no Covid-19 , the governors have no guts to take a decision about alcohol sale.
Re: Dates when no alcohol sold in Hua Hin
Do these people ever go outside?“It involves gathering of people,
Yesterday when I was out and about, there were multiple building sites with dozens of workers finishing for the day, literally shoulder to shoulder. They then climbed onto trucks, around 20 or so to a truck. Stood in the back like sardines. Queues at 'free food' stations all huddled together. Crowds at the open markets with no regard to social distancing. I was in the car for around an hour on an errand to check on someone's house who can't get back into the country. I never saw one instance of social distancing, quite the opposite.

Consider this:
I drink for health reasons.......However, moderate drinking may have benefits for brain health — especially among older adults.
moderate drinking and wine are linked to reduced weight gain or even weight loss.
moderate alcohol consumption may reduce your risk of heart disease
Moderate alcohol consumption may reduce symptoms of type 2 diabetes by enhancing the uptake of blood sugar by your cells.
Moderate alcohol consumption may increase life expectancy
Red wine may be one of the healthiest alcoholic beverages, probably due to its high concentration of antioxidants.
Drinking small amounts — especially of red wine — is linked to various health benefits.
