We shall run the poll until Saturday.

The design boffins have been experimenting with both contenders and have come up with these samples:

Not to be picky, but the geckos would look better in green IMHO. Pete :cheers:

Of course there is yet another compromise position.

Allow the user to choose by giving a chilli or gecko option in their profile php. For those who don't choose, the default will be the winner of this poll.

But perhaps the site doesn't have this functionality? Pete :cheers:

Word's going round on the street that some chillie supporters have had more than vote - can the mods check?? :)

Even more convinced it should be the geckos now - very nice design, powers-that-be! But I want the mods one in the red or yellow & red - match my jin-jok tatt! :mrgreen:

Yes, I agree. Thinking like a Thai censor, the chillies unfortunately could be mistaken for some things that need to be blurred out for certain viewing audiences. We need to be cautious. Pete :cheers:

I must admit, after seeing the designs, the Geckos do look smart.

Green for Mods though. :mrgreen:
