True - but looking at the last post by Roel the compacting is done pretty efficiently after collection by the look of it. Just wondering though whether much of it does in fact end up in landlfill? If so - where? Those compacted cubes look as if they are set to go for recycling of the metal. If so Thailand must be doing a much better job than many so called 'eco friendly' countries. But those were compacted after being collected as recyclable cans, as opposed to general waste.

Recycling in Thailand is big business. I know somebody in the shipping industry that back loads used newspapers into Thailand for recycling from overseas.
