Indian restaurants in Hua Hin
Re: Good cheap UK style Indian food in Soi 88
I agree, I've had their 'special' a few times and have enjoyed it.

And the live music at BKP is so loud that conversation is nearly impossible, but still I go there from time to time for cheap beer and to look at the girls
So where is the chef from Take 5 now then? IMHO Take 5 have/had some of the best Indian food in town, certainly better than the the guy in the corner at BKP. I hope he still runs an Indian food restaurant in HH so we can enjoy his delicious Indian food.

aint it just. I only went once, the music did my head in. I could live with the odd conversation-less meal, but even alone I couldn't eat with the sheer racket at that place. My husband just said though that we should try the Indian one recommended by CamelJockey (lefthand side of the stage) but we'd get a takeawayhuahin4ever wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2018 8:07 pm And the live music at BKP is so loud that conversation is nearly impossible
which brings me to my question.... what time does BKP open .... if I went at 5pm/6pm would I be able to get a takeaway or is it that ridiculously early?

On Friday most were selling food by 5.00 or 5.15 and Chill Chill Bar is open at that time for alcohol.MDMK wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2018 8:35 pm...which brings me to my question.... what time does BKP open .... if I went at 5pm/6pm would I be able to get a takeaway or is it that ridiculously early?huahin4ever wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2018 8:07 pm And the live music at BKP is so loud that conversation is nearly impossible
I drove past yesterday at 4.15 and they were all just starting to set up.
The music is not too loud if you sit at the back.
I haven't tracked the ex Take 5 chef down yet but I'm told he is still cooking up a storm somewhere in HH. If I find him I'll post. I should also try Take 5 again to check out the state of play there now myself.huahin4ever wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2018 8:07 pm So where is the chef from Take 5 now then? Thanks for that, I'll go nice and early for takeaway, and if I am too early will have a drink at ChillChill404cameljockey wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 7:31 am

(and not true about sitting at the back, did that last time and it still made my fillings fall out )

Please do. The original Zafran near the Centara was a fine restaurant and is much missed. It would be great if he were to open a similar new place.404cameljockey wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 7:31 am I haven't tracked the ex Take 5 chef down yet but I'm told he is still cooking up a storm somewhere in HH. That move was quite a while ago, I'm saying that I was told that he moved on again recently.
But I went there last night and found the food exactly the same as before (i.e. very good). So I asked the waiter and he confirmed that the chef at Take 5 has not moved on. They employed a second chef also, but I'm sure I remember being told this several months ago so I don;t think that's a new thing either.
Anyway, the thing is that I didn't find any difference in the food (e.g. the unusual style Bombay potatoes), and the menu is unchanged, so I'm happy still to go there.
