singulary the LOUDEST band ever I saw .... so loud the bass drum beat drove the air out of your chest....the cross faded radio feeds drilled into your head......the staccatto screech of the guitar feedback made your eyes water....voices echoing from right to left...anger you could breathe,,,,,,

all of us that night saw red.....

Jesus Made Her do It

Loudest gig I remember was Blue Oyster Cult (in a small venue with excellent acoustics to start with!) Blew the doors off.

Ed Alleyne-Johnson

Purple Electric Violin Concerto

Image

Ed used to be the fiddle player with New Model Army

One man, one purple electric violin, 20 delay and effects peddles, and a recording desk.

classic!

here is the man in action so you can see it really is all just him playing

SEPULTURA - CHAOS AD

seems pretty appropriate, and goes well with news reports on the unrest

Chaos A.D.
Tanks on the streets
Confronting police
Bleeding the Plebs
Raging crowd
Burning cars
Bloodshed starts
Who'll be alive?!

Chaos A.D.
Army in siege
Total alarm
I'm sick of this
Inside the state
War is created
No man's land
What is this shit?!

Refuse/Resist
Refuse

Chaos A.D.
Disorder unleashed
Starting to burn
Starting to lynch
Silence means death
Stand on your feet
Inner fear
Your worst enemy

Refuse/Resist
Refuse/Resist

REFUSE / RESIST !

Just decorated my front room, and promised myself when I set up my trusty stereo system that I would buy myself a new piece of vinyl. The first one in 6 years in fact!!!

Well the linn/naim system is up and running so off I went up berwick street in Soho armed with some folding.

After tooling around for a while I purchased one of the new Johnny cash albums, the double one with 'Hurt' on.

This was produced by Rik Rubin (him of hip hop fame) and I have to say its a gem of unequaled proportions.

He covers some classic songs ie.... Personal Jesus, Bridge over troubled water, Danny boy, Desperado, and Witchita line man. To name but a few.

His voice is just superb and a lot of it is recorded with just an acoustic guitar so it is freakishly up front and personal. Its like he's in the damned room with me. Which is a scary thought as he's dead...!

If you like your music sparce al-la Nick Drake then this is a great disc to spin.

You young whipper snappers on the forum should check it out to hear a real master at work... 8)

Already done RC, my Dads a massive Cash fan, and Neil Young.

Its a fantastic album.

Here's the original version of Hurt, by the man who wrote it.

Not a patch on the Cash version, it's like it it was written for him, especially with the video.

Haunting.
