Euros 2024
Re: Euros 2024
I'm not so sure that is a valid reason. It has been happening for years, and not just in England. It even happens with the Thai league, and they are a long way from being Prima Donna status

I don't agree with that article at all. It's just a opinion puff-piece.Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2024 7:49 pm Another view on why England are struggling - may not be totally accurate but definitely some valid points made!!

It’s a bit like rear orifice’s - we all have one even though they might be different!!
Re: Euros 2024
But as BB say's, she wrong. Gordon West is a good example. He turned down a place in England's 1970 World Cup squad, because he wanted to stay at home with his family.Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2024 8:07 pm It’s a bit like rear orifice’s - we all have one even though they might be different!!

Re: Euros 2024
Well I didn’t say I agreed with everything in the article just some of the points and who can say whether she, me, him, her or you are correct?
The only thing we can agree on is that we won’t always agree, but having said that, most of us do agree that it won’t be coming home unless England start playing better

Fair play, that is funny - I might just adjust it to use for some of the Welsh Rugby these days!!

Yes, if you can't laugh at your own team's misfortunes, it's a bad show. I've had plenty of practice over the years with Plymouth Argyle.

Re: Euros 2024
Well this is a surprising result so far. Not surprising for BB though it appears, 2-0 is his prediction.
5 minutes to go plus stoppage. Are the Italian's going home.

Re: Euros 2024
It’ll be amazing and a travesty if they manage to get back in the game.
Assuming Switzerland do win, England could be facing them in the quarterfinals assuming we win tomorrow!!

Re: Euros 2024
I was hoping to meet Italy if we advance to be honest. Try and avenge the finals a little and kick them out. That'd give us a feel-good factor for sure.Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 12:49 am It’ll be amazing and a travesty if they manage to get back in the game.

Unfortunately England can’t take anything for granted at the moment but let’s hope we get through tomorrow and then maybe their confidence will be better and give them the spur they need to beat Switzerland and then you never know, ………..Lost wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 12:54 amI was hoping to meet Italy if we advance to be honest. You never know indeed. On paper, Slovenia and Switzerland wins being our route to the semi finals, oof... we should be licking our lips!Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 12:58 amUnfortunately England can’t take anything for granted at the moment but let’s hope we get through tomorrow and then maybe their confidence will be better and give them the spur they need to beat Switzerland and then you never know, ………..Lost wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 12:54 amI was hoping to meet Italy if we advance to be honest. But, ugh, those performances in the group stages were a tough watch.

Yes. The Qatar tournament may have been plagued by human right's abuses, low -paid workers falling from heights and being 'deleted'. Shite atmosphere ...
But at least it wasn't interrupted by the weather.
