The service was a little slow, but the owner/waiter did say that he cooked everything from scratch and the chicken took some time to tenderise. He graded spiciness on a percentage level (60%, 70%...?). I chose 70% and came out with a roasting mouth. The gratis chai tea really helped with that though. Highly recommended.

Tonight, I went to the thai restaurant which is about 100m up from the Indian on the same side. It's a strange little place; almost like you are in someone's front garden that they've decided to put a few tables into. None of the tables match, which adds to the quaint charm, as does the swimming pool befit with children's inflatables! I took the Masaman curry, which arrived sometime after my wife's larb gai. We both said it was the best thai food we have had in a long while. Together with two large changs, the check bin was only 330Bt for two. I don't think I'll eat for a few days with the amount of food we had! Also, highly recommended.

(While I am here, there is a small restaurant at the bottom end of Soi 88 that does wonderful breakfasts. I don't think it has a name, but it is a narrow place, about 80-100m up from the bend, on he left, by the big bike shop. It has 3 or 4 yellow umbrellas outside. Try the sausage and egg, or bacon and egg sandwiches. You won't be disappointed!)
Just where on Soi 88? Between Petchkasem and the railway line... or West of the railway line.
We drove along Soi 88 this morning and could not even find bike shop.
From Petchkasem, cross the railway line and take an immediate right. After 20m, the bike shop is on the right, on the left hand bend. The breakfast place is about 80m on the left - look hard or you'll miss it.

Lek Fai Road is about 2km further on, on the right. If you get to the Court, you've gone just a bit too far.
The breakfast sandwich place in question is nearly 400 METERS up the road from the motorcycle shop! Someones estimate of distance is pretty bad. It is past the 7/11 that is well up the road on 88. A sandwich and a tea is 99 Bt but I have not give it a go as yet.

Cheers!

It is situated next to the florist just past 7/11 on the same side.
I have been in several times and enjoy their bacon and egg sandwich. The menu seems to be expanding with several specials last time I was in.

RED Piano Restaurant & Wine Bar set to open in about 2 weeks. IIRC the chef said they'd probably open for a limited English roast this Sunday, mostly for staff training.

On Kanjanomai in the space formerly occupied by Lucky's.

Visited the other night Italian restaurant "Genova". They make their own pasta, and you'll notice when you enjoy it. Really, really good pasta. Other things, too, I am sure, but I did not test them.

Next time I shall.

Hi all
We have been to a new restaurant across from Wat Bofai, at the time of writing it has no name in English.
Good prices and good food and that's from our Thai friends as well as us.
The owner has worked as a chef for the Hilton group in a few amazing places, the setting is pleasant, a few things like coffee and deserts and ice cream lacking but only open for 3 weeks, give it time.
Regards.
Ps guinea pigs for the kids to look at, different!

The re-furbished 2 storey Korat Kitchen reopens on 1st December.

Also a new place opposite Amara Resort on Soi 94 opens on 1st December called Hua Hin Der. They appeared to be doing staff training when I went past. No menu outside as yet so no idea of the style of food.

A new pizza/pasta/burger restaurant has opened on the road travelling past the recently vacated Oy restaurant and a couple of soi's before you reach the turning to Yellow House. It's on the left hand side on the corner of a small Soi. No Thai food; pizza, pasta, burgers, fish n chips salads and sandwiches. I don't remember seeing a sign with the name but on the menu it says Kong Pizza or something similar

BTW the previous Oy site had a lot of fitness equipment there but I didn't see any signs to say it was open/trading as a gym.

I just drove by there and there were quite a few people in there working out.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I noticed earlier this morning that the gym on Soi 94 on the corner by the pizza place looked closed, so I don't know if there's any connection.

However, this isn't restaurant news, so :offtopic: please.

BB I guess the tourists and locals like pizza better, as there are many that
realize it is cheaper to have a run down by the beach etc.
My shape is more round than anything so I guess that is why you can spot
me at the beaches or bars, more than at a gym. I stayed at a place on soi 94,
so I am glad to see lots of places to eat in that area.

Nab Thong is indeed still open. Bee doesn't work there anymore but the food is still great value.
