The passport is useful if traveling out of Thailand....but is it mandatory? Would not airlines and whomever else accept an official vaccination certificate?

Dannie Boy, you traveled to the UK several weeks ago. What did you show at the airport here upon departure, and upon arrival in the UK?

I wasn’t asked to show anything at either departure or arrival. Of course when returning to Thailand I will have to show proof of vaccination and I only have the certificate not the Covid Passport.

However, I've had my vaccination certificate checked twice now, and the key thing they have checked has been my ID Card number quoted on my vaccination certificate against the number on my ID card (I guess substitute passport if you don't have an ID card).

My son has also been checked twice, and because he doesn't use mobile Internet, he has shown them a screen shot of the Mor Phrom page, which they have accepted.

All other information has been superfluous for us so far.
I got a ID number on the vaccine certificate but where is actually this number picked from for us who have no ID Card except passport / driving license?

Btw, do we need the vaccine passport for travel in Thailand or is it enough with the vaccine certificate from the hospital?

Thank you in advance :)

For what it's worth I received my vaccination cert today from Bangkok Hospital. They said to check the name, passport number and 13 digit id number carefully. They said check the address but it isn't as important as the numbers.
I have after what the vaccine certificate tell moved to Bangkok :banghead: :D Anyway if its not a problem here then that's okay for now. However after checking what needed for being issued a vaccine passport from home country which is accepted in EU then there maybe can be some misunderstandings because my address here in Hua Hin is also my official address registered with the embassy in Bangkok and governments authorities back home. Anyway I don't have any plans about travelling abroad this year and by the time spring coming in Europe we have probably get a booster shot here so the vaccine certificate will have to be updated.

I think a few of us will be interested in how your return to Thailand pans out. Thank you in advance.

Well, it wasn't easy getting a new cert issued with the correct information but I managed it in the end after a lot of faffing about and several trips back and forth to the hospital. The DHP on the app hasn't been updated and nobody knew how to do it so guess I have to live with that and carry the paper around should anyone want to see it.

Next step is to grapple with the bureaucracy in getting the yellow vaccine passport in Prachuap. They certainly do not make things easy here and the whole process has been somewhat Kafkaesque. :banghead: I didn't want the effing jab in the first place, just want to get outta here when the time comes!

Mor Phrom is currently being upgraded to take applications for vaccine passports (international certificates). Not working yet but ใจเย็น ๆ unless you're in a real hurry. 😀

Does anyone know how to register for Mor Phrom if it rejects the phone number?

Trying to get the app installed for a couple of people here that have just had their second. They have the 13 digit number on the vax cert, but can't register for the app as it rejects their phone number.

As an intermediary measure, I took a photo of their vax cert and put the image on their phone so they can show anyone that wants to see it which should suffice.

Those whose phones are registered to one person in the household are going to have a problem with Mor Phrom I would think.

LIke us, all three mobile numbers (her's, mine and daughter's) are registered to the wife for ease of bill paying and management.

I would think Mor Phorm would look to match who the number is registered to against the name applying for the app and reject it if no match...IMO.

Yep - Thai IT at its best.

The Google Play store reports only about 5 million downloads also, so it seems Thais are also struggling with it and adoption is very low.

As I said, when I was having problems after they changed my key. I did as instructed, and took it to the hospital, where they are supposed to help. The response I got was that the computer was fcuk'd and it doesn't work for everybody.

Actually mine worked fine, once I realised there had been some human intervention.

Mine works fine, but I have the pink ID card. I can't get anyone else's to work - and the staff in our local hospital are clueless on a good day.

So, to get the vaccination certificate/passport, I just need to bowl up at HHH enquiry desk at the main entrance with my original appointment card that shows I got both jabs and make a request. Is that correct?

As things start to open up here, the chances of my making a visit to the UK are growing. I'm not worried about the hospital paperwork for entry to the UK (10 days self-isolation here I come) but I want to make my life easier when I return so I don't get hit with quarantine as I'm fully jabbed up.

I appreciate that Thailand's entry requirements are in a state of flux at the moment so I'm not rushing off to book flights quite yet but I'm sure that the certificate/passport will make life more simple.

Thanks for any help.

I think you need the vaccine certificate before you can apply for the passport - that was certainly the case when I did it.
