As an FYI, Express VPN has been recently sold to a British-Israeli digital security software provider named Kape Technologies PLC.

What this will do to rates, performance etc., is of course unknown at present.

The sale is part of the story at: https://www.reuters.com/technology/expr ... 021-09-23/ and here: https://www.reuters.com/technology/kape ... 021-09-13/

What you'll see on their website is that they already have either a partnership or ownership relationship with a few VPN companies. That makes me think we may see some dilution or merging of the Express VPN system/servers with other VPN's services.

"Israeli" made me immediately think NSO / Pegasus. What a great place to put spyware - at the heart of a VPN. Paranoid much?

That crossed my mind also. Better get my tinfoil suit out of storage.

Is anyone having problems with Express VPN via 3BB?

From a super service, it has become a 'pain in the a**e over the last week or so. Downloading my first of any day, I'll get super fast speeds above 40 mbps. Sometimes allowed to finish but more often than not now, it breaks when just a minute or so to complete. VPN loses it's connection and 3BB throttles the wifi. Sometimes wifi is switched off in windows 11 and has to be manually turned on again. VPN is unable to reconnect. I then switch from Singapore to HK to get it going again, which it does at a much slower speed.

It's almost as if 3BB are now detecting the VPN and acting accordingly.

Working fine here using 3BB, just tested to Singapore, and it's running at 350 Mbps download.

If Sing starts to get flakey I just switch it to Hong Kong which is almost as quick. Make sure you've updated to the latest version (10.8.0) also, which sometimes improves performance.

You can see what happens. Downloaded my first movie which completed at 40+ mbps. Then you can see what happens on my second download. The sudden drop was the point that 3BB cut the wifi. Unable to connect to Singapore so switched it to HK which worked but much slower.

I am using Express VPN. Last night I could not watch the Rochdale vs Plymouth Argyle match live. I just assumed the match had been pulled. This morning, I've tried to watch ITV Live and get the 'Prpgramme not available on this platform' message.

Is anybody else experiencing the same problem please?

I used Express VPN yesterday and had no issues. Another country though, so it might have been an issue with the UK server(s).

Mine works fine for everything else, including ITV catch up. It is just ITV live.

[Edit] I've just checked, Rochdale vs Plymouth plays fine on catch up. I may have to enjoy the victory again later :D. I had to watch it in Danish yesterday

I’ve just tried ITV live and it worked first time - I also watched BBC motd live this morning ok, so sounds like it’s something to do with your setup?

Must have been a hic-up. I'm on ITV hub every morning and no problems.

They'd obviously heard my feelings about Harry Kane, and were trying to protect me from the fact Plymouth had a Harry Kane doppelganger playing last night. Unfortunately, Danish TV still managed to scare the hell out of me.

As you say, a hiccup. Probably my first real hiccup, after initial teething problems, since I've been using it.

I have been having the same problem for the last few days, although streaming from a different direction. A solution is to go into 'options' and try a different protocol. No, I don't know what it means, but it seems to work! good luck.

Although I have no problem watching programmes on BBC, ITV, Channel 4, I tried to access Channel 5 (My5) yesterday and today, but I can’t get any programmes to play. Although it doesn’t say it’s detected that I’m using a VPN, it certainly seems that way - is anybody else experiencing similar problems? I have contacted VPN Express help desk who have tried to find a fix but so far haven’t come up with a solution.
