This could have HUGE implications for those of us living here. How do they tell the difference between residents and tourists? Hopefully Hua Hin will be a permitted location, but what if we live in the sticks?

They tell the difference by looking at your passport with long-stay visa and latest 90 day report - you just need to carry your passport (as is the regulations anyway).
And I do, plus my ID Card, but I know many baulk at the idea. It will still be a pain if the police decide to venture from beneath their shady trees, and start checking on peoples movements.

11 in our postcode and considering a population of 14-15 K, seems high. A couple of comments on that site however call into doubt the accuracy of those figures
My house is in a village and the post code area for my road is numerically small, so even 1 seems high!

Who's going to come with such restrictions, unless, as mentioned before, it's an island such as Phuket or Samui, or the big international hospitals in Bkk. So that's three area's where they may be allowed. I don't think Hua Hin will figure at first and judging by the crowds over the last week or so, foreign tourists might not even be needed here.
I'm not worried about Hua Hin. I'm thinking if, for example I need to travel to Ratchaburi. We often encounter at least one checkpoint. When I get there, will I have to explain to hotel staff that I'm exempt from the regulations?
Whilst I understand the reasons, I just think it could become a pain in the backside/restrictive for residents innocently going about their business.
I recently saw an Embassy letter asking police to allow passage. Are we all going to need such things?
Yes it could be a bit of an issue but I doubt there are that many foreign residents traveling on a regular basis at the moment, so it shouldn’t be too much of a hardship. Hopefully it will soon be superseded by something less arduous
Salmon cannot be contaminated with the Covid-19 virus, Disease Control Department deputy director-general Dr Thanarak Palipat stated.
He made the remark in reply to a news report that cutting boards for imported salmon in Beijing’s Xinfadi Market detected the virus, causing worries that the fish could be contaminated with the virus.
“We have not studied the case in detail, but we believe salmon cannot be contaminated with the Covid-19 virus,” he said. “We believe that the sellers contracted Covid-19 from their cutting boards.”
He said the department has never recommended eating raw meat because it may be contaminated with germs.
“We always emphasised that people eat hot, cooked food and use a serving spoon while eating,” he added. “We also advise that vegetables and fruits be washed before they are eaten.”

Dexamethasone is First Life-Saving Coronavirus Drug
"A cheap and widely available drug called dexamethasone can help save the lives of patients who are seriously ill with coronavirus.
UK experts say the low-dose steroid treatment is a major breakthrough in the fight against the deadly virus.
It cut the risk of death by a third for patients on ventilators. For those on oxygen, it cut deaths by a fifth.
The drug is part of the world's biggest trial testing existing treatments to see if they also work for coronavirus.
Researchers estimate that if the drug had been available in the UK from the start of the coronavirus pandemic up to 5,000 lives could have been saved. Because it is cheap, it could also be of huge benefit in poorer countries struggling with high numbers of Covid-19 patients."

Hundreds of Beijing Flights Canceled After Virus Flare-Up
(Bloomberg) -- More than 1,200 flights in and out of Beijing were canceled Wednesday, state media reported, as the Chinese capital wrestles with a fresh coronavirus outbreak that’s infected at least 130 people.
The flight information pages on the websites of Beijing’s two airports were littered with red boxes in the “status” column to indicate flights were canceled to Guangzhou, Qingdao, Shanghai and other cities across the country. They included routes operated by the three biggest Chinese carriers: Air China Ltd., China Eastern Airlines Corp. and China Southern Airlines Ltd.
Beijing Capital International Airport Co.’s flight departure page alone showed more than 80 cancellations for Wednesday morning, and about 50 inbound flights were canceled. The website of nine-month-old Daxing International Airport in the south of the city showed similar cuts.
'Unacceptable failure': New Zealand brings in military after Covid-19 quarantine fiasco
New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern has branded an “unacceptable failure” a quarantine blunder that meant two arrivals from Britain left managed isolation in New Zealand without being tested for the coronavirus – which they were later diagnosed with.
“It should never have happened and it cannot be repeated,” Ardern said on Wednesday, adding that the defence force would now oversee the quarantine of new arrivals and audit the quarantine process.
Ardern also said she would temporarily remove the compassionate exemption under which the pair were released from quarantine early.
Health officials are tracing 320 people who are regarded as “close contacts” of the women, and they will be urged to get tested. Close contacts could include passengers on their flight to New Zealand and other quarantined travellers at their Auckland hotel, as well as hotel staff and flight crew. The women were now in isolation with a relative, officials said.
