They're are just 2 of us in my bubble. And I really don't trust either one.

Sad git that I am, I note that PKK administered 160 first doses of AZ on 26 July. This is totally against PKK policy - does anybody know who the 'special' recipients are?

As you read on the sister forum, a couple of people I mentioned got AZ in Bangsaphan (at least that's what it said on their receipt). Maybe some provincial hospitals had some left whereas HH with a bigger population got through theirs faster and they haven't been replenished.

Yes, I saw that, but that was some time before the 26th, although there was a weekend and a bank holiday in between, so maybe. It'll be interesting to see if the BS population remain 'special', because that was well past the date of the policy change.

At this rate, Thailand needs to administer 604,143 doses per day within 158 days to reach the herd immunity target by the year's end.

Some quick beer mat maths indicates that with a very rough average of 1.5 million doses per week, it will take them at least 13 months to hit their target from today. And that isn't even the whole population double dosed - and some will now need three shots - and it doesn't include all the holidays when virtually nothing happens.

Hold on. In today's BP:

Mr Anutin gave an assurance that from next month onwards, an average of 10 million vaccine doses will be procured per month and an average of 1 million doses will be administered per day. The doses will be distributed to all target areas designated by the CCSA.

His maths is obviously on a par with his health knowledge (and probably building too).

2 more first dose AZ given yesterday. I'd love to know who these special people are i.e. how do they get around the red tape?

One of our friends (Thai) has posted a picture on facebook where she is receiving her first jab of AZ today. She is in the Thai army, so I don't know if there are special reasons for the army? Something seems to ring a bell ......

Yes it’ll be Army specific not for the plebs. We heard yesterday that my wife and I are due to get vaccinated at Cha Am hospital on Monday, assuming nothing goes wrong over the weekend - I’m certain it will be Sinovac not AZ.

I thought the army was already vaccinated with Sinovac x 2, and the AZ was going to be their 3rd shot.

I should have added she's from around the Pranburi area .....

Actually when I look at her post again, it clearly is her first dose of AZ, however I have no idea if perhaps she's already had 2 does of Sinovac.
