Oh, yes, there are qualifiers, Pete. We've been told we'll be in at least 5 races - help! Gulp!

Think the plan is to have a few beers and sail through the last couple of races feeling no pain...

Sorry I couldn't make it today, as the good Dr said ... work commitments, which I know is blasphemous on a Sunday but ...

Not looking good for me getting the race day off either, weekdays are never good.

Buksida

You are forgiven

Cap'n Barry has ordered me (as his First Mate - I'm told), to get you and the Good Dr to do double duties next week or you will both be tied to the mast and inflicted with Hell Freezes Over in both lugoles 'til ya drop.

A good day once more, but I'm not sure our trainer realises that we are mere mortals - mostly old phartes to boot.

I'm still trying to work out whether we DID manage to find second gear today.

Anyway - good hospitality as usual from the Cap'n and I really must learn to grab the Garlic Bread a bit quicker next time.

The Big Race Day comes ever closer

Good practice session again yesterday.

On the subject of handicaps, not a chnce - we'd need such a start that they'd have to lengthen the course quite a bit :?

I've managed to find out why the lonesome monitor lizard was so bemused yesterday.

Apparently, the local colony of monitor lizards is quite concerned about Iomuamart's long absence and is wondering whether it should go on looking after the mangrove shore accommodation.

To all crew members of the good ship Crazy Farang

The Cap'n & I have had a meet'n and decided that it would be a damn good idea to meet at the dock this Sunday at 1.00pm sharp. :thumb:

There's a bit of organisational stuff to go through and final planning.

So ye swabs - get ya arses down there on time or there will be some severe lashings given out :cuss:

Who'll be giving out the lashings Terry? You, the Cap'n or the coach?

I'm most scared of the Coach & that bloody whistle!! I'll be there! Aye! Aye!

I'll have to miss tomorrow's session as I'll be attending friends' 140th birthday party in Bangers tonight. Hopefully the coach will blow really hard to his whistle for a long time. Have fun, I'm going to be dry for the first Sunday for almost three months.

So, it's a childhood friend then, BG? :neener:

And here's me marinating chicken in tikka sauce & pork in pepper sauce for kebabs for tomorrow (garlic bread already made & in freezer) No-one's going to be there to eat them!

Oh, well, more for me, Terry & barrys then!

Right then ye swabs :cuss:

Don't forget - 1.00pm sharp at the dock tomorrow or risk incurring the wrath of our trainer's missus
:lach:

Plus you've got to eat some of Dawn's grub or she'll set the hounds on ya :guns:

'Tis also rumoured that ye'll 'ave to paddle a bit

Can see BG wasn't here today, no-one's beaten me to the evening's first post

Couple of new members today. Quite a few turned up, so the boat was well-laden. Unfortunately back to our rocking & listing from previous weeks, so a bit of bailing out done. :|

A couple of sprints this week, but no opposition. The coach seemed to want to build up our stamina & endurance today. We travelled so far upriver, I was pretty sure we'd need our passports! :D My arms feel rather heavy again!

It also transpired that Evason will not be sponsoring the team, although they have donated some shirts for the race day. That pretty much makes Mermaid Cruises the Crazy Farangs' sole sponsor.

A good practise & good fun as usual. Next time we're together is Friday - race day! Gulp!

Thanks for the hospitality, barrys. See you all Friday!

Good turnout today

With a couple of pluses and minuses we look good to field a team on the day.

(Field in a river? )

I digress

Seems like my new girlfriend's husband had us lined up for a good workout today. Up to the road bridge and back with a short lived sprint for the benefit of the locals on the shore.

No real competition on the water today - we must have got them really worried, and with our ability to take on the occasional drop of water as extra ballast now and then we are sure to break a few records on the day.

:lach:

Ask Cap'n Barry which ones

Sorry BG, no doggy bags present and Dawn wants to know which breed you want and whether you require it cooked, raw or smoked :thumb:

Thanks to Dawn for the Garlic Bread & Kebabs and again thanks to Barry for the lousey Curry & Baked Spuds - great hospitality as usual.

Countdown to Friday - after this lot I don't want to see another Dragon boat for a few good months.
