I live mostly in Bangkok, but am in Cha Am many weekends (although not so many recently).

Collecting new bike on 27th, and plan to be in Cha Am on 28th or 29th.

If you are having a New Year run, would love to join you guys for a run. If there are any plans, please let me know and I will try to join

Hi Winkie
I won't be around but post on this thread and I'm sure someone will respond.
'Gin tonic - no lime' is usually up for a ride but better to P.M. him so he gets the email.
What bike are you getting?

Hi there Ginjaninja

I'll keep my eyes on this forum to see what pops up.

I've been off the road for many years, and have finally gotten round to getting back on 2 wheels again (a bit of a mid-life crisis me thinks).

I'm picking up my beautiful new Hyperstrada 821 on 27th December.

Trying to remain cool about it, but am really counting the days until I pick it up.

Gonna take me a while to get the hang of this one I think, its quite lively, but is small and nimble, so should do well in the Bangkok Streets too.

Maybe we'll catch up sometime for ride.

Congrats on the new bike. I'm sure you will be more than happy about it.
I'll be back in january, and it could be great to meat up for a ride.

Anyone up for a longer run in Jan/Feb, say a week or two on a loop around the north? These day trips are ok but they're not really getting out there on the road!

I will be going for a 8-10 day trip on january 18th. or 19th. I promised the mrs. to take her to Kalasin (Issan) on the bike.
If I go there alone I will stay there and do one/two day trips while she stays with the family and we will go back toghether.
But if somebody wants to join, the plan is open for changes. Maybe go from Issan to North and then back to HH ? or maybe something else ?
If we don't stay in Issan it's not a problem, the mrs. will just go back by car.

I have not done any detailplanning so far, so if anybody is up for it I would love to hear suggestions.

Hi Winkie.... the 821 should be a suitable tool for the twisty roads up around Kang Krechan reservoir that are the best I have found for riding at a "sporting" pace while retaining some semblance of safety.
The regular group (up to 5 or 6 sometimes) usually ride on Saturdays, heading either North or South staying off the main highways as much as possible. We usually leave HH by about 9:30 - 10 am, head out until we get hungry, stop for lunch and end up back in HH before dark, usually between 4 and 5:30pm. Last Saturday Ginjaninja and I went North (visiting the new Ducati location) then West, visiting a small hot spring in Nong Ya Plong district (13.151873 Lat, 99.600867 Long) then into nice restaurant on shore of Kang Krechan reservoir, and back into HH via Soi 88 connection to Pala-U road. About 3 km on Hwy. 4 just to get a coffee in Amazon Prechaburi across from Makro there, that was the extent of superslab riding for the entire 295 km day. Some great scenery along and over the mountain range heading from the hotspring to KKrechan.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Kang Krechan Resovoir is somewhere that I've wanted to visit, but have not yet had the chance.

For sure will post a little pikkie as soon as I can (still counting days at present).

Anyway, I hope that we can catch up sometime soon

Thanks all
