For those of you who need to travel to a foreign country in the next three months and have completed two shots of Covid-19 vaccine, you can apply for a Certificate of Immunisation, otherwise known as the Covid Yellow Book.

Nice - you have to travel into a Covid riddled red zone to get one!

Not sure why its in English though, as there are probably only 13 farangs in Thailand that have had both shots. :duck:

I thought exactly the same thing when I posted it yesterday. Not just a one stop shop either.

Thailand's Vaccine Tracker (July 21, 2021)

About 5.31% of the population is fully vaccinated. 11,292,579 (+225,061) people have received the first dose, while 3,512,541 (+32,815) have been fully inoculated. At this rate, Thailand needs to administer 578,934 doses per day within 165 days to reach the herd immunity target by the year's end.

Opinion: The term "herd immunity" now is similar to pissing in the wind as far as I'm concerned. With different variants constantly emerging it's never going to be reached, until new variants stop emerging.

^^ Would that herd immunity be for the original virus or for the Delta variant which is apparently much more transmissible?

The dead woman’s husband, Saksit Dujwan, 44, said both he and his wife received AstraZeneca as their second jab on Monday after previously being given Sinovac as the first jab.

Saksit explained that his wife had high blood pressure and was taking medication for it.

He said that before the vaccination, medics confirmed her condition would put her in danger if she was administered the vaccine.
Once again the headline doesn't reflect the story.

It takes 14 days for the vaccine to work after the 1st shot. Not sure how this would be classified as it's a mix with sinovac.

14 days to give protection against Covid, but I don't think they're saying this had anything to do with Covid. The suggestion is this is an adverse reaction to the vaccine. However, we don't know the real reason for her death yet.

To me, the most damning part of the piece is, "Medics confirmed her condition would put her in danger if she was administered the vaccine." If they knew that, surely they were negligent administering the vaccine. If they were under orders to administer the vaccine regardless, then whoever issued the order is negligent.

AFAIK there are no mandatory forced vaccinations (yet) so I would guess that she opted for the vaccination even after being told the risks.

The British embassy has put out a new vaccination update. It tries to provide as much detail as is currently available, but succeeds mainly in painting a picture of chaos and confusion…,

· The British Embassy’s objective remains to secure equitable access to vaccines for British nationals across Thailand (particularly the most vulnerable) within the national vaccination programme. The previous Ambassador to Thailand spoke to Thai authorities about this issue several times, including when he has met the Prime Minister. The British Ambassador designate continues to discuss this with them.

· The only vaccines that have been approved and procured for use in Thailand are AstraZeneca, Sinovac and Sinopharm. You may not be able to choose which you receive. You should contact the hospital or vaccination centre for more information.

Yes, of course this is all hearsay, and I'm sure her husband is feeling very aggrieved, so maybe putting his own spin on it.

If the medics did actually tell her that she would be in danger, I can't see them continuing without getting the lady to sign a disclaimer. However, danger is a strong word (press talk??), and I just can't see them normally continuing.

hhinner, if your systolic had been >160 was it a straight refusal, or were there options? Maybe you don't know if your systolic was behaving :D .
