^^ Oh shoot! I've had the first AZ jab, should I now demand Sinovac for the second? What a dilemma!
I'm fairly sure you're saying that tongue-in-cheek but it's an interesting point. The current research seems to indicate that the different combinations, plus the order you mix them in, makes a difference. For instance, giving AZ first, followed by Pfizer seems to give a better immune response than Pfizer followed by AZ.
This is why proper clinical trials are needed. The biggest trial so far is being conducted in the UK and involves 8 different combinations of vaccines to start with, though more may be added later.
The thing that is confusing me is where is all of this extra AZ going to come from? In PKK alone we already have (list follows for Tapatalk users):
23,503 fully dosed Sinovac people needing a AZ booster
38,565 first dose Sinovac people needing AZ within 4 weeks of their first shot
32,588 AZ first doses awaiting their 2nd shot soon
This apparently accounts for 8% of the PKK population.
OK, it eases the supply chain woes initially for AZ, but within a month they are going to be up Shit Creek without a paddle.
Multiply the above across 77 provinces, and..................................................
I can see that in 4 weeks time, they will be saying to today's Sinovac injected people, we don't have AZ yet, here's a 2nd dose of Sinovac. We'll give you a booster when/if AZ becomes available.

I had my first AZ jab in Bkk on Sunday and I did give serious thought as to whether I should wait for the jab in HHH, as it would potentially speed up the time that I became fully vaccinated. In the end I took the advice of my UK GP nephew, who said take whatever you can as soon as you can and also because he said everyone will need booster jabs in due course. Hopefully by then, the shower of incompetents that run this Country should have enough vaccines to meet everyone's needs.
Incidentally, I was given an appt. on 10 October for my 2nd jab, so 3 months away and again, hopefully by then, the 2nd shot will be available.

Sounds like good advice from your Doctor relative. Better than some idiot saying, for example, Mix two useless shit vaccines = a miracle vaccine.
What I said is not more idiotic than most comments I read on this forum.

...and how many hundred thousands haven't registered or been near any vaccine facility in PKK ?
Going for the first shot doesn't seem to be a problem as the $30/shot Sinovac seems to be plentiful. It's getting hold of the follow-up $2.50/shot AZ that seems to be the problem. IMHO they are simply applying stalling tactics. As we can see from the above chart, this weeks' 1,210 AZ shots have been given to people previously considered fully vaccinated.

Maybe no brainer, but not a guinea pig. I let others be and watch.

Pheu Thai lambastes DDC leadership over Astra deal
The main opposition Pheu Thai Party on Tuesday demanded Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul replace the director-general of the Department of Disease Control (DDC) over failures to reveal the contents of the contract for procuring the AstraZeneca vaccine and alleged faults during the management of vaccine allocation.
In a meeting of a House sub-committee on vaccine procurement at the parliament building on Tuesday, Yutthapong Charasathien, Pheu Thai MP for Maha Sarakham, insisted the DDC must disclose the government's vaccine deal with AstraZeneca.
The MP also demanded to know why the department continued to buy vaccines from Sinovac which critics say are less effective than other brands in guarding against infection.
The population should be lambasting Anutin and his lackeys also - its their lives that these "politicians" have put on the line with their shady dealings.
Edit: this one is a couple of days old, but still very relevant.
Malaysia to Phase Out China’s Sinovac Vaccine
Malaysia’s Ministry of Health said yesterday that the country will stop administering the COVID-19 vaccine produced by China’s Sinovac Biotech once its current supplies run out, amid mounting evidence that the vaccines have limited efficacy against the Delta variant that is currently ravaging Southeast Asia.
