I’m off to the UK in a few weeks where it’s easier to get all of the ingredients so will give it a go and post the results!!

The KFC version was the first I tried in Thailand. Coconut overload - the shop was lucky my nose was working well that night, else there'd have been a big mess on the floor. I really have a huge problem with coconut, and I can't understand why anybody would put it in their egg tarts.

Probably because coconut milk is as freely available here as cows milk - of course in the UK no one would dream of using it, but let’s not forget that the majority of consumers in Thailand are Thai and I’m sure they prefer the taste of coconut to regular milk.
