I noticed this as well, so asked a few different members of staff if the supermarket was closing down. They all said no, it's just some remodelling going on.

Well, unless all the people I spoke to were lying to me (or someone had been lying to them) your hope seems likely to be fulfilled.derek60 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 4:24 pm I really hope so

Re: Gourmet Market @ BluPort
Prices always were always competitive for the basics. The stuff that can be bought everywhere, such as a pint of milk. When you pay extra at any of these stores, it's generally because of a product unique to them, or a difference in quality, just as in the UK. It's no coincidence that TOPS sell products from Waitrose, M&S (Central have the franchise), carrefour and even Coles from Australia. Even organic F&V from their owns farms or producers, or where they have sole rights of sale. TOPS and VM add a penny on many goods to cover transportation costs when compared to their Bkk stores. GM don't.
To be honest, TOPS, VM and GM all have a range of goods available in Bkk that aren't avaiable in Hua Hin. But then, so do all the others.

I'll try Bluport again given the comments about competitiveness, as I do use Villa Market for a few (to me) essentials that aren't currently on the shelves at Lotus or Bic C, and bite the bullet on the cost.
I'm always been a bit surprised why Robinsons aren't in Hua Hin, they're present across Thailand.

Re: Gourmet Market @ BluPort
In order to get a Robinsons you would have a Central Plaza Mall which would also have a Topps market in it too. Probably too many competing malls with Market Village and Blueport both there.

I’ve shopped at Robinsons in Petchaburi a couple of times but wasn’t overly impressed with what was on offer, especially at their prices.

Just my own opinion but I don't think Blueport has anything anymore that I can't get elsewhere and often empty shelves with what they are supposed to have. I personally would welcome Foodland.

Re: Gourmet Market @ BluPort
Well, I just arrived back in Hua Hin since leaving on about the 20th December. And as I always do, I popped into Bluport / MV for some essentials, and blimey, what a change! A lot more shelving has been removed, many freezers are empty, marked as 'awaiting repair', as is the salad and soup sections (I don't believe that). The far right quarter of the supermarket has been closed off completely and in the tables where freshly cooked food is eaten - is that still provided? - a big meeting was taking place amongst about twenty staff members, which I found odd, as they have offices upstairs. I managed to get some milk and fruit, and some no added sugar ice cream, which is all I wanted, and from the food stalls outside, bought a couple of samosa's for my tea from The Spices 51 indian restaurant, who have an eat in or out, small outlet there.
So clearly big changes are happening, I just think they need to decide whether to close it now to do whatever they are going to do, because as others have said above, I had actually stoppped shopping there as too many items I like to buy weren't available any more. I think they need to be honest with their customers.
I do know what has happened, but I am not at liberty to say, but I have no idea what the future holds.

Re: Gourmet Market @ BluPort
I think I remember (gray hairs) one of us has a wife that works in the company that owns Bluport and they said it was due to close last year, which obviously didn't happen, perhaps now?

Whoops!
Upon rereading I realised that this doesn't specifically relate to Gourmet Market
Tried to delete but I can't for some reason
