I realize that I could have pointed out the problems there and then, but did I really want another microwaved quesadilla? That was not something that they were likely to fix properly even if I did point this out.

I have to ask though, is it only proper to post reviews of a place if they are full of glowing compliments?

Do visit though, but don't say I didn't warn you.

I would just like to let you know ,I have been in Magaritas kitchen, and they do not even have a microwave. You assumed it was microwaved so you are trying to make an ASS/U/ME. Have to side with PHARVEY you were easy to trash but not give the place the chance to fix it. :tsk:
As for a Sunrise Tacos, There was Baja Tacos that was the same style with better food then Sunrise that didnt get enough support to stay in Biz.

Fair comment Jorakae. Obviously, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I do however stick with the point that you should have addressed the issue with the owner and given him the opportunity to put things right. From what I understand he is a decent guy and would certainly try to resolve matters.

Admittedly, I've never been there myself, but will try the place on my next visit...... trust me, if there's a problem with lack of alcohol, I'll be the first to complain!!

I stand corrected on the microwave bit. I posted that it tends to indicate being microwaved, not that I'm being authoritative about it. I haven't been in their kitchen like you have. However, just stating that they don't have a microwave based on your personal observation is a fair enough argument without having to throw in the personal attack. The waving finger icon is also unnecessary.

Quite frankly, I paid my money to eat there. This entitles me to have an opinion of the place, whether or not I decide to give the owner a chance to fix it and whether or not you agree with it. I, and the party I came with, gave them a chance when we walked in the door. In fact, they had three chances. If two were great, and one was poor, I'm sure one of us would have given them a fourth chance.

What makes a good restaurant good, besides quality, service, and value, is consistency. Something that all restaurants should strive to master. Are you more apt to frequent a restaurant that is good sometimes and not others, or a restaurant that nails it every time? For me, its the latter. I will happily hand my money over every single visit, come back for more, and strongly recommend it to others. Why? Simply because I can depend on them to be consistent in all of the above categories and not worry if the people I've recommended it to will get something good one day, but perhaps something below their expectations, based on my recommendation, on another.

I've eaten there twice, once in Dec 2011 and again in April 2012, and enjoyed both meals as did my friends. I thought it was very reasonably priced, and my friends wife enjoyed the frozen margarita. I will be going back again this Dec.

The margherita/alcohol thing must be a 'one-off' blip due to new staff member or whatever... in my honest opinion. No excuse obviously, as I'm sure the owner would be the first to accept given how genuine he comes across. The reason I say this is that most of my visits there on & off since they opened were purely to drink a couple of margheritas rather than have dinner. I don't go there on a weekly basis or anything but I can say that every time I have been the margheritas were plenty strong.

Determined to give them a try this visit....... Mil and The Long haired General shopping in the market at least gives me an excuse - I think the "dodgy knee, need to sit down" excuse may raise it's head!!

Went to Margaritas and they changed locations

Post by Foodie »

I went to Margaritas and on Saturday and it was closed and had flyers that they moved over the railroad tracks on Chomson, straight ahead past the supermarket. I went over and they gave me some free Tacos. They were very good. It seems a differant menu. The nice thing about the location is that there is street parking. Thought this would save people some time.

Margaritas???

Post by LolaBeltran »

We drove around on the other side of the railroad tracks for a half hour and could not find it. We gave up.

Stopped at a very pricy Pizza Place opposite the HH High School but left after a quick glance at the menu and the entrance of several kids.

Ended up at a night market restaurant where my Caesar salad came disguised as a chicken salad with sliced cucumbers and tomatoes, vinegar & oil on the lettuce, mayo on the side and slices of chicken on top. When questioned the waitress assured me that this is what they serve for a Caesar salad. If we ever go back there, I will try ordering a chicken salad out of sheer curiosity.

Anyone have directions to the new Margarita's location? We went past the supermarket as far as the hill and checked every soi. Nothing. Then we checked the road to pala U and streets around there. Nothing.

Where are they in the Grand Market? I don't recall seeing them, but would definitely eat there as I thought their food at the other night market location was good, and the Grand Market is much closer.
