Buying an airgun in HuaHin/Thailand

Do you know if you can fire the ceramic pellets in an air rifle designed to fire lead pellets (.177 calibre)?

No.

0.177 caliber is about 4.5mm and the lead pellets are (sort of) cone shaped; the ceramic pellets are 6mm and are round.

thanks - only i have a .177 air rifle but cant find where to buy the pellets in HH - I will look for the shop mentioned near the Bangkok Bank.

I fail to see what Thai law or "the locals" have to do with me carrying out some pest control on my own property - I won't be marching up and down the soi riddling peoples houses with bullets If I can't legally buy one I'll ask a Thai to do so - hell, I may even lend it to the neighbors.

Thanks to those that have made suggestions, the gas guns are out as you need to recharge them before use, BB guns are not powerful enough, and I wouldn't like to leave a crossbow bolt stuck in some ferral mutt so a rifle is the way to go for the range and accuracy (I have a big land plot).

Dannie Boy, where did you get your rifle? I will check out that shop near the BKK bank.

I borrowed it from somebody in my wifes (Thai) family, but on the basis that I dont think I have managed to hit one pigeon with it, then it might as well go back to the owner rather than take an (unlikely) risk of somebody reporting me to the MIB.

Why do some people want to be so cruel,the dogs don't bother anyone.
I stay in a soi of the main road and if anybody walks down the soi, you know someone is coming.the noise they dogs make,i think it is good.Of course i feed them.

Tried that and many other things but still have a BIG pigeon problem.

Up in our village there are many soi dogs some owned some rome around there are also packs of wiled dogs that run through i have no problem with hitting an aggresive dog that is threating you or others around you.
We also have birds in our gutters that i have tried many things to stop this as we need to try and catch as much water as possible without it being contaminated.

Now lets debate this, if you where in the UK, Australia, or any other country do you think you would get away with taking pot shots at pidgeons or any other birds because they are on your roof of your house absolutely f**king ridiculous, in my opinion maybe the open poster has a lot to learn or should take a reality check because he is not coming across very Thailand savie.
We all meet them dont we!

Anti-roosting is all that I care about. They love to perch on the very small space atop my outside light sensors....and subsequently there is a stream of poop down the outside walls beneath those spots. My latest method is to put some thick putty on the top of those sensors and affix 3 long screws, pointy side up. It's working. Take away their place to spend the night and you've at least won half the battle. Pete

Nice one Pete you can also make some spikey gap filling items with chicken and other wires we have done this with our gutters but the little finches still get in now our house has a green tiled roof maybe should have gone for blue.
Is there a man around Hua Hin that has a trained hawk that could come around and fly his beast I have seen this on a documentary on Dubai this hawk man is hired by a lot of hotels.

I don't know any personally, but I have seen many Thai men riding around on motorbikes with covered hawk cages here.
