Young family moving to Thailand ??????
Re: Young family moving to Thailand ??????
Sounds like a bit of an impulse to me. That's ok if you are young and single but this situation doesn't sound good to me. OP should come on a holiday first to check things out before taking the plunge with family.

Nobody's calling you a liar Crocket, especially DM ('cos he's a nice bloke) - I think that most of us are questioning whether the young couple have really done their homework.
If any of you had come to Foxhall Stadium (Ipswich) car boot sale in 1997, you would've met a couple selling bits and bobs, as they were leaving England to start a new life in Thailand. A lot of the stuff we were selling was good quality and questions were asked by punters as to why we were selling it. When we told them there was a kind of 'Yeh,yeh - tell us another story' look. What we didn't manage to sell we took along to the local hospice charity shop.
We had no kids, and I was in my mid-thirties (Mr.VS was in his early forties). We had, more importantly, done our homework. We could work here as English teachers and have a reasonable, comfortable lifestyle on the potential salary.
Fourteen years later and we're still here. Our salaries are (sadly
) still the same as they were 14 years ago, but we live comfortably within our means and have no intention of going to live back in the UK.
