richard's right.
The water supply will be almost non-existent a week or so before Songkran so it can be wasted then. It's happened for the past few years at least here.

maybe it made a lot of households try and use less water to get the free bill?
Brilliant deduction I never considered that the free water would save........you have certainly been in Thailand long enough to understand their ways :thumb:

HHF The reservoir in town is pumped from Pranburi dam so is not an indication of water levels in the dam. Unless it is empty!
This works well in Thailand with electricity. If a household uses little electricity, they do not have to pay for it at all. Why would this not work with water? Use less than X cbm water/month and it is free, use x.1 cbm and pay for it all.

Might just work.

I wonder if there's a fear that a bonus for using less water could result in sanitation and disease problems? No bathing, toilet flushing etc. Pete

Anyone been by this new proposed 'Floating Market over on 112..??
Just wondered how many litres of HH's water that's gonna take to fill? (how deep is the water gonna be?)
Is this new attraction being constructed now? if the 'brown envelope' handed to the Ampher is a fat one,
will this market get it's water without a hitch, yet leaving HH with 2-4 day cut-offs..??

Just spoke to my next door neigbour, his wife has been on the phone to the supply. And said its now 1 day on 4 off. Out my way. You know if they fixed all the leaks i see, on the lines i am sure there would be a saving of water that way. But of course that would be way to orginized. I will have to buy more tanks/pump etc. Our estate is talking about we all put in for a bore or our own truck. Its going to get bad i think

I went past there the other day and it looks like it is going to be pretty deep, I would think (hope) they will be getting their water from a borehole.

Whilst I absolutely agree with the necessity of conserving water AND at the risk of getting shouted at on here .....
I find it difficult to accept the fac that golf courses can continue to use water ad hoc. I accept that the have their own boreholes and water supply but .. same sky, same clouds, same ground, same rain.
The water table for the area will go down irrespective of where the water is drawn from thus affecting everyone so I will stop my watering of the few plants that I have when the golf cours owners stop watering their greens.

I'm no meteorologist, but doesn't the water put on golf courses go back into the environment as in the ground water table or evaporate into the atmosphere to form clouds and eventually rain... :?

Watering grass or plants is just creating artificial rain, not wasting water. The water doesn't just go away so it must go back into the ecosystem, therefore, the only reason to stop watering would be if the immediate supply was so low that people did not have drinking or household water. Otherwise, I don't see it as wasting water, just moving it from one place to another.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
