When you make claims like that it would be better if you could quote your sources and not what may have been posted on social media.You say that you don't know how to copy and paste articles, it's a very simple procedure and Google and YouTube will teach you.

Of course, it isn't going to be easy, but opening a border where the numbers are 4x worse than your own seems a bit crazy.

If my memory serves me correctly, it was Malaysia who closed the border originally, so I guess the question remains, is it Thailand lifting the restriction?

Covid-19 patients recovering quickly after getting experimental drug remdesivir
(CNN)Covid-19 patients who are getting an experimental drug called remdesivir have been recovering quickly, with most going home in days, STAT News reported Thursday after it obtained a video of a conversation about the trial.

The patients taking part in a clinical trial of the drug have all had severe respiratory symptoms and fever, but were able to leave the hospital after less than a week of treatment, STAT quoted the doctor leading the trial as saying.

"The best news is that most of our patients have already been discharged, which is great. We've only had two patients perish," Dr. Kathleen Mullane, an infectious disease specialist at the University of Chicago who is leading the clinical trial, said in the video.

Mullane did not immediately respond to a request for comment from CNN. The university said it would comment once the official results of the trial were ready.

There is no approved therapy for the Covid-19, which can cause severe pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome in some patients. But the National Institutes of Health is organizing trials of several drugs and other treatments, among them remdesivir.

Thailand discovers 28 more coronavirus cases; markets buoyed by possible cure

Thailand’s government said on Friday that it had discovered 28 new coronavirus infections bringing the total number of infected to 2,700.

Only 964 patients remain in hospital, the first time in weeks that the number has fallen below 1,000 patients, according to the government.

There was 1 new fatality bringing the death toll to 47.

96 more patients have recovered from the virus bringing the total number of discharged patients to 1,689.

“The low numbers can be attributed to the efforts of us all,” said government spokesman Thaweesin Visanuyothin. “It is something to be encouraged by and be happy about.”

Wuhan Covid-19 death toll is increased by 1,300 - "Chinese authorities revised the death toll in Wuhan, the hardest hit city and where the virus first emerged, up by 50%, to 3,869 from 2,579.

Citing the number of patients who had died at home before reaching hospital, as well as late and inaccurate reporting, the city’s task force on virus prevention and control said: “Every loss of life during the epidemic is not just a source of sorrow for their family, but for the city as well. We would like to send our sincere sympathies to the family members.”"

False/Under-reporting, truly due to additional data coming in, or a bit of both? Either way, a big concern for the rest of us. The UK's death rate is certainly unreported.

Thai workers to begin returning home through Sungai Kolok

NARATHIWAT: The Sungai Kolok border checkpoint will reopen on Saturday so that the first 100 Thai workers stranded in Malaysia can return home and go into a local quarantine.

The border remains closed to other travellers.

Deputy governor Boonpat Raknui inspected the customs checkpoint on Friday, confirming that preparations were in hand.

District chief Rungruang Thimabut said arrangements were in place for the screening of the returnees and their placement in quarantine.

Returnees were required to show letters from the embassy or the consulate and medical certificates showing them clear of Covid-19. The checkpoint could handle 100 returnees a day, said Mr Rungruang.

Teams of officials at three screening points would check the body temperature and travel records of those returning, before they were sent to quarantine centres. Vehicles were arranged to take them to their home provinces for local quarantine, the district chief said.

Chakkrit Uthensut, chief of the Sungai Kolok customs, said the checkpoint would be open from 7am to 7pm. One hundred people on a list provided in advance by the embassy and the consulate would be allowed to enter the country each day.

Customs vehicles would pick them at the checkpoint in the main building for screening before they were sent to quarantine in their home provinces - mainly Narathiwat, Pattani and Yala, he said.

Mr Boonpat said Maharat sports stadium had been set aside as a temporary shelter for those who passed screening but could not get to their home province before curfew. They would there stay overnight and travel the next day. It could accommodate 60-70 people.

If there were fewer than 15 whio could not get home, they would overnight at an Otop building serving as another temporary shelter near the customs checkpoint.

Fourth Army commander Lt Gen Pornsak Poonsawat earlier ordered all 13 temporary border checkpoints with Malaysia closed from March 18.

The border closure was a response to Malaysia's lockdown, restricting entery to Malaysian nationals, to combat the spread of Covid-19.

Decision on relaxing anti-Covid rules next week

The government will next week decide whether to relax disease control measures, including the possible reopening of some shops and banks.

Spokesman Dr Taweesilp Visanuyothin said on Friday that discussions were being held with experts and business representatives.

The goal was to ensure effective disease control if some businesses were allowed to reopen.
A proposal would be put to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha for a decision next week.

Businesses which may be allowed to reopen included mobile phone and electrical appliance shops, banks, barbers and hairdressers, and general stores.

Dr Taweesilp said hairdressers and clients would be required to wear masks. Clients would have to clean their hands with alcohol before entering the shop. There would be hair-cutting services only, and instruments would have to be cleaned for each customer.

"Other shops may be allowed to reopen if they limit the number of customers inside at one time, to prevent crowding, and refrain from promotional activities that would attract crowds.

"These are possible proposals for a relaxation. They have not been approved," Dr Taweesilp said.

"More people are wearing masks, but some groups of people still continue to party and gamble," he said.

On Thursday night 820 people were caught breaking the nationwide curfew and 109 for defying the gathering ban, he said.
