^ Rain, normally, but this is proving to be a drought year so far.

Plenty of rain north and south of Hua Hin. At least we got a good soaking yesterday evening.

I use this website to check the weather on a daily basis - unfortunately, it's accuracy has been about 20% of late, often forecasting rain that fails to materialise. Use it as a guide by all means, but don't be surprised if they get it wrong.

The problem appears to be that the rain is very localised. I live in the Hin Lek Fai area and when I played golf on Monday pals told me that they had had a huge amount of rain on Sunday pm + evening in the Lakeview/Springfield Golf club area and again today pals said they had a deluge of rain yesterday in Palm Hills area by the beach whilst Hin Lek Fai has been dry all week ( lots of rain clouds though!! )
It does not matter where you come from, it's where you are going that matters.

Seems it's the same where I live, 2/3rds the way between HH and Cha Am - lots of clouds, but it's as though somebody is holding a giant umbrella above our house

0530 and the skies have just opened up over here. Extremely hard rain (but I'm taking my swim anyway in 5 minutes :D ) I see big orange returns on the Hua Hin radar so perhaps you'll get something this morning. Pete

Below from Coconuts. The wife told me she heard on the news that Bangkok was flooding today, or at least parts of it. Pete

"Don't take that umbrella out of your bag just yet. Monsoons rolling in from the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea will unload more rain onto Bangkok and elsewhere for the next few days.

Clouds will continue to turn Bangkok’s skies grey, and scattered rain is expected in 80 percent of the capital area while temperatures may fall to 24-to-25 C, according to the Thai Meteorological Department.

Meanwhile, those living north and northeast of the capital should watch out for heavy rain through to next week due to a pending depression in South China Sea."

Erm, well it is clear right now and has been all day! The last couple of days we have had rain where I am starting around 5-00 pm. Tuesday evening we had a huge storm that lasted for several hours, yesterday just a light shower around 5-00 pm.

One thing that I have noticed this year is any rain we do get moves in from the east, rather than more to the south and west. Stuff that Pete does not want I guess! :thumb:

We had a one hour shower about 3-4 am, I would estimate about 1 cm.
