I think the private hospitals will have a problem later. They will order a lot of Moderna, because there is much demand now. But when it arrives, most registered people will already have been vaccination with other vaccine.

Thailand's Vaccine Tracker (July 7, 2021)
.
About 4.66 percent of the population is fully vaccinated. 8,245,297 (+223,268) people have received the first dose, while 3,082,746 (+46,385) have been fully inoculated. At this rate, Thailand needs to administer 533,588 doses per day within 179 days to reach the herd immunity target by the year's end.

The Thonburi Health hospitals are asking for upfront payments as deposits which cover the cost of the vaccine. Seems wise.

Possibly a booster of Moderna wouldn't be a totally bad idea.

Why not register with Cha Am hospital?

What would be the procedure for registering with the hospital in Cha Am (and which hospital would it be)?

That won't necessarily be an impediment. Lots of countries are looking at the practice known as "heterologous prime-boost" whereby you get a different vaccine for the second dose, as it appears this may well give better protection than two doses of the same vaccine.

Another thing being looked at, even for people having had two doses, is getting a third, booster dose - either of the same vaccine or (especially if the first two were of a vaccine seen as less efficacious) of a different vaccine to what they've previously had, preferably an mRNA vaccine.

So I could see quite a few people still wanting the Moderna vaccine in the future, even if they've already been vaccinated.

The article below talks about the immunological benefits of mixing the AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines - various other combinations have shown equally promising results.

- I downloaded the "mor prom" on "line" app and, as I couldn't manage it by myself (all in thai), asked a thai friend who filled everything in (btw, even for her, it took 20 minutes!) and we got the appointment
- there is only one hospital in Cha Am
Hope it helps

OK, thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I don't think that will work for me - I'm already registered on Mor Prom with my appointment at HHH. I was hoping maybe it was a direct registration with the hospital itself, especially seeing as we have no idea when the HHH appointments for July will be honoured. Mine was supposed to be July 6 but now it seems that has been delayed by maybe a month - or possibly more.

They've already approved MrNA vaccines as a 'booster' shot in Thailand:
Pfizer booster shots approved for health workers after outcry

The National Vaccine Committee on Tuesday approved Pfizer booster shots for front-line health workers, despite earlier advice from a senior official that the move would be "admitting that the Sinovac vaccine is not effective". The leaked advice prompted an uproar from netizens, who demanded that medics be given the jabs.

Kinda depends on who told you and how reliable is that information. Uninformed gossip has no use on this forum :thumb:
He said he went to HHH!!! - There were many vaccines scheduled for today having been rescheduled about 3 times, so it will be key to hearing what happened to them today
I will refrain from using capitals as you did in another thread. How many times do we need to be told about unverified gossip and rumour on a very important thread, it just causes more confusion in an already over informed confusing threads. As it stands from the poster after you HHH was very busy today with people getting vaccinated!!! I'm sure that if HHH have run out of vaccines there will be a post on their FB page.

Thank you.
It seems PET information was correct, which I had also been told because I have not seen any further vaccine appointments for tomorrow, and the late ask for those who should have had today to come tomorrow for maybe up to 200 jabs is about it for the time being. Where is the post on FB?
It does not matter where you come from, it's where you are going that matters.

Good information joelle, now just 1,810 to go :D

Something I've just noticed on the above link. My laptop is set to auto-translate, but I've heard many talk about the Thai text. I don't know how long it's been there, but there is now a button on the page allowing you to switch to English.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

I think it's been mentioned on here before that communication between hospital and the to-be-vaccinated is not great. Today at the hospital I saw quite a few people, mostly Thai, but also a couple of foreigners, brandishing appointment papers being told that they did not have queue numbers for today. I speculate that these were people who registered at MV, Bluport and hospital branches and were unaware that all appointments have slipped considerably.

My advice for those "in the queue" is to keep an eye on posts in this thread by @joelle who is very much on the ball regarding vaccination news.

Also check with https://www.huahinhospital.go.th/check_vaccine.php to firstly see when you get an appointment, and also thereafter to watch for changes to appointments. This especially after the hospital announced it has received a batch of vaccines.
