Actually, the mushies at Zabwer (tried on your recommendation for F&C) 2 weeks ago were as good as I've tasted (apart from home made by DIL) in Hua Hin. Grumpy's mushies were pretty good as well.

OMG Grumpy was much grumpier than me. Hard to believe, I know, but I can only dream of reaching such legendary heights

I can't disagree with you. that is what it says on their Facebook Page. However, I know what their actual menu said today because they made a mistake with today's bill (3 minor mistakes actually - TIT :D), and we had to work through it line by line. One of the things they mischarged was F&C + Beer separately. We were charged 249 + 65 as opposed to 259. The other error was they actually forgot to charge for one drink. All sorted amicably, of course.

Obviously increased the prices in their menu in the last few weeks then. That FB page is a copy of their menu when I went probably early last month
Stiff increase, 25%..

Yes, a large increase, but seeing what I saw today, a bargain at 199 or 249. I really wish I'd ordered it.

I generally go to Viking now, but don't eat off a chopping board!

The chef at Zabwer is the wife of the English owner, he's taught her over a long time to cook proper British grub. The F&C is excellent, but I ask for extra mushy peas. The little dish used for mushy peas shows that Thais think it's a condiment, not a part of the main dish. :)
