It wasn't a dry day for me as a team mate in front of me sometimes thought shoveling is preferable to paddling so in the end I was just as wet as the week before.

Hi Santa
There should be a sailing school starting up next door to Mermaid Cruises early in the new year.
We're expecting a 40' sailing boat to be delivered for starters in the next couple of months, with more craft to follow.
If you want any more info, let me know.

No report from yesterday yet. Well there isn't much to report. The food was as good as always and it was fun to be with the team. However, we failed to get the boat into water. It was a buddhist holiday, no coach around and the ropes that hold the sides of the boat were broken, so we decided to practise our tactics.

Spoke to our coach today and inspected the boat.
Repairs completed and ready to go
The boat will be moved to Mermaid Pier on Sunday morning
So it would be great if we could start reasonably on time (1 p.m.) this week
We've a bit of catching up to do, after all
Let's give them local teams something to think about
Followed as ever of course by

Another week closer to the race. What a gruelling session it was today. First a lengthy first session with only one sprint. Then after a short brake back to the water. We did the race track three times at sprinting speed, twice against the local teams. We did pretty well against them until they put on the second gear after that we could only see their tail lights. My goodness my arms are heavy.

Anyway, it was good fun as always. What happened to you Dawn?

I think we did catch up with missing the previous Sunday's workout. The captain himself must have known what was to come in the second session as he was seen fleeing towards the bright lights of Pattaya. We've a bit of catching up to do, after all

Sorry to let you down this week, guys. Sounds like it was a hard one. How many were there? Had some loose ends from last night to tie up & if I'm honest, I was knackered after a very difficult, busy & stressful week, so didn't make it, as you know. But I promise faithfully to be at the remaining practices & bring the garlic bread with me

Understandable Dawn. As Barry had hoped that we could start at 1 p.m. (we did 1.30) we decided to go with a smaller crew. Then couple of the crew members got tired after the first session and Barry also had to go. Fortunately we had some late comers to join in but I think the total number in the second session was 12 CF's and some Thai lads. I missed the garlic bread, may have to make some for myself tonight.

I have just had my delivery of this months Observer (bit late I know but worth waiting for).
In it there is a picture of the crazy farangs out for a test drive. I have spotted a problem straight away (I am an ex-rower).
The boat is sagging in the middle. This cause extra drag and slows the boat down and requires more paddling effort by everybody. No wonder Terry is Cream Crackered.
The heavyweights should be positioned at the rear on most boats which will reduce the drag significantly.
