Vettel takes this last race and ties the most consecutive wins record with 9. Terry had the best race and ties the highest pool race point total for the season with 21. Vital Spark wins the VS&P household title 17.0/13.5 for this race and 258.5/255.0 for the season, and secures a podium position. Well deserved bragging rights VS. Lay low Parahandy, she'll be over it by New Year...maybe. :D

Thanks to everyone for playing the pool this season. Happy Holidays coming up! :thumb: Pete

Congratulations Pete. Well deserved.

Also,a big thanks for managing the league so expertly - your diligence and timely posts before and after each race has made taking part a great deal of fun.

One thing's for sure, if you fail to predict a race - as I did with the Belgian Grand Prix - it really puts you on the back foot! I'll not be making that mistake again next season.

Thanks for all the kind words from everyone. Glad everyone enjoyed it. It's a crazy pool as we've kind of proven in that if you get lucky and a 6-10 point lead, and then just average scores after that, it's really hard for someone to catch you. It would REALLY be more interesting if we had say a variety of 3-4 winning drivers instead of what happened this season. Pete

Nico Hulkenberg rejoins Force India for 2014........

Note: IMO Sauber is a well managed up and coming team. No clue in the article the reasons he is leaving them......probably $$$ I guess.

New Jersey, Mexico and Korea dropped from 2014 F1 calendar

The New Jersey, Mexican and Korean Grands Prix have all been dropped from the 2014 Formula 1 calendar.

All three had been listed provisionally in a draft calendar issued in September but were not on the definitive 19-race schedule released on Wednesday.

The New Jersey race, with the Manhattan skyline as a backdrop, has now been postponed for two consecutive years.

Mexico, which last hosted a race in 1992, is expected to reappear in 2015, while Korea appears to be lost to F1. .............

Sauber have financial issues and it is believed that Hulkenberg didn't get paid for his time there.

While I'm fond of Sauber, they've pretty much always been flitting between 'upper midfield' and 'lower midfield' and, apart from 1 year in their brief stint as BMW, they've never looked like they'll ever make the jump to a top tier team.

It is believed Hulkenberg joined Sauber as a stepping stone to trying to get a drive with Ferrari (with whom Sauber are closely aligned). After that particular door closed, better try and re-align himself with a Mercedes based team and court the works team, or perhaps McLaren.

Blimey, I thought I'd replied to the final results. Must have dreamt it after celebrating with a bottle of bubbly.

Well done Capt. Pete and Lindosfan.

Mr.VS is still licking his wounds, but after I promised to do worse next year he cheered up.

Thanks, Pete, for keeping the team going.

Double points to be awarded in the final race of 2014

Possibly the worst decision ever made by a sporting body? Certainly one of the most unpopular!

I absolutely agree Pleng. Are they trying to turn motor racing into some kind of game show? Next, they'll be asking viewers to vote out a driver for one race. :cuss:
