From Coconuts. Check your local weather sources for more details and ongoing coverage.

http://bangkok.coconuts.co/2014/07/15/t ... icked-name

"You can cry, and you can beg for mercy, but TYPHOON RAMMASUN! is coming to bombard Southeast Asia with the wettest wetness.

The Meteorological Department warns residents, particularly in the north and northeast, to prepare for the coming of RAMMASUN! and its reign of heavy rain.

While the typhoon’s malevolent gaze and path are not expected to fall upon our kingdom, it will strengthen the monsoons currently lashing these fine, verdant lands, with more storms of thunder to shock the capital through next week.

RAMMASUN! will strike the Philippines and South China Sea tomorrow through Thursday before its weekend offensive into Hong Kong and Hainan."

Well, we had our first proper rain of the season today. Some pretty impressive flooding - time to take the truck out :D

I was called upon to do the school run this afternoon. Both granddaughters had to remove their shoes and socks to wade to the car. Absolutely brilliant.

^ Really a change of pattern this year. I've been watering heavily for the past 2 weeks. Barely a drop of rain, and temps like hot season along the coast here. If we get nothing within the next 2 days, I'll have to put water in the pool!.....in the rainy season......a first.

Glad to hear that you have finally gotten rain in HH now it can fill your rain barrels and water your
sturdy Thai grass. I enjoyed a bit of rainy weather in Phuket once, and it was very impressive to see the tropical style of rain coming down in heavy downpours. Even in HH I spent a day getting pictures of rain pouring off the roof in visible lines of water. That is a good time to own a 3 or 4 wheel vehicle
to get around on or in. Thanks for the report Big Boy, and prcscct, sounds like the south got some heavy damage from the freak waves and storms. I am looking forward to my next visit to Thailand
in the Winter months. Jan to March.
Even here in Canada we are enjoying a nice Summer with temps in the 20s with one day it got to

^ Nice looking neighborhood; too bad developers here don't know how to make a development like that. I see Canadians are much like your neighbors to the south, using the garage for junk storage while parking the cars in the driveway... :D
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

That picture could have been many places in the UK. All bins neatly placed ready for collection. Very different from here.

Yes where's the rain they keep promising us - much drier this year than last year?

Don't worry, I'll wash my car later - that guarantees rain

Actually, I've just been to the shops and there was a light shower while I was out.

My friends just visited Hua Hin and had a great time, they said the weather cooperated
and they were able to see the tourist sights and a few fine restaurants.
For hhfarang Yes in Calgary, we have black bins for garbage and blue bins for
re cycle materials. Here is a memory from the Winter of 2011/12 on a rainy day, hope
your tomorrow is a nice one!

Is this year breaking any records, well into rainy season and I'm still watering.
Pathetic little rainfall today, what my British raised mother called --- a spit and a promise.
